Law firm Greenberg Traurig is expanding its global corporate defense practice in the Netherlands. Francien Rense and Vincent de Bruijn are moving to the firm’s Amsterdam office. Francien Rense was previously a partner at NautaDutilh, Vincent de Bruijn was a partner at AKD and previously worked at NautaDutilh and De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.
Francien Rense (1974) has represented and advised organisations and individuals for over twenty-five years in the field of corporate integrity, compliance, enforcement and sanctioning issues. Both in cases that are settled or settled, but also in cases that are litigated. Her track record in this area is exceptional. Francien is a trusted advisor in crisis situations, where her extensive experience in dealing with the authorities and their investigations is crucial. She regularly publishes about her profession, speaks about it at conferences and is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (NVSA). Francien studied Dutch law at Erasmus University Rotterdam and also followed the postgraduate training in forensic auditing there.
Vincent de Bruijn (1986) has been an expert in the field of complex, international and national internal investigations and settlements with the authorities for thirteen years. In this context, he regularly works with top IT specialists and forensic accountants. He also acts as a criminal lawyer. In doing so, he assists companies and individuals in every phase of the process: from the first interrogations to the Supreme Court. Vincent is a guest lecturer at the Law Firm School, among other things. He studied Dutch Law at the University of Amsterdam and also obtained a bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics.
David van Dijk, managing partner of Greenberg Traurig Amsterdam: “ Francien, Vincent and I know each other well from the time we worked together at Nautadutilh. Both are considered the absolute top in their field. In recent years, they have worked intensively with Greenberg Traurig teams in other countries on international dossiers. It is a logical step to further integrate that in this way. ”
Francien: “ Greenberg Traurig’s international network gives us enormous clout in delivering cross-border services of the highest level. The flexible organization of the office facilitates and stimulates a custom-made approach for each individual client and case. Personal involvement - certainly also at partner level - is crucial to be able to offer clients fast and high-quality service in complex, international cases. That is also how Greenberg Traurig is organized.” De Bruijn adds: “We see the demand for our services growing steadily and consistently within the corporate defense practice, partly due to increasing regulatory and enforcement pressure with an ever-increasing complexity of issues. At Greenberg Traurig, we are perfectly positioned to meet that demand.”.
