03 Sep 2024

Eversheds Sutherland has recruited two partners from Quinn Emanuel and Freshfields into its Global Disputes practice.

Lambros Kilaniotis joins from Quinn Emanuel where he was Co-Head of the firm’s UK Competition practice, and he will lead Eversheds Sutherland’s Competition Litigation team.

Joaquin “Jack” Terceño arrives from Freshfields in Tokyo where he was Head of Disputes and International Arbitration in Japan and helped to lead the firm’s Asia International Arbitration team.

Lambros has considerable experience in competition litigation, having acted in high-profile competition cases in the courts for globally recognised brands and firms across multiple sectors including FMCGs, retail, sports, media, financial services and technology sectors. Lambros has extensive experience across all types of collective, stand alone and follow on competition litigation matters, including appeals from regulatory decisions.

Jack represents multi-national corporations and sovereign nations in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, including matters under ICC, LCIA, AAA, ICSID, HKIAC, SIAC and UNCITRAL rules.  He also has acted for clients in commercial litigation in the U.S. federal appellate, district and federal bankruptcy courts and in New York state courts. Jack is qualified in New York and in England & Wales. Jack’s practice focuses on disputes in the energy, telecommunications, investment, and infrastructure sectors, and also includes advising clients in ESG disputes more generally.

Mark Davenport, Co-Head of Global Litigation, Eversheds Sutherland, commented: “The appointment of Lambros and Jack further adds to the global capability and heavyweight experience that we are able to deliver for our clients. The skills which Jack and Lambros bring to our international arbitration and global competition practices are significant, and will enhance our credentials in these important areas. I am delighted they have joined our Global Disputes practice and I know they will both make a great contribution.”

Jack Terceño, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, commented: “I am excited to join such a highly-respected international arbitration team and add my own international experience to their wide-ranging knowledge. Eversheds Sutherland has an excellent reputation and, fuelled by its ambition to keep growing its international arbitration practice, I look forward to working with my new colleagues to develop our status as a leading international arbitration practice.”

Lambros Kilaniotis, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, commented: “I am delighted to join the internationally renowned litigation team at Eversheds Sutherland. The opportunity to collaborate with its leading global competition team and to contribute to the expansion of the practice, alongside Eversheds Sutherland’s other competition litigation partners, was a major draw for me. The firm’s extensive multi-jurisdictional reach and its strategic focus on areas where competition litigation is increasingly critical—such as technology, energy, and ESG—made this role especially appealing. I am looking forward to working with everyone in the team.”
