Global top 100 law firm Gowling WLG has further bolstered its practice in Germany with the appointment of Nils Kupka. As part of the firm's growth strategy in Europe, Nils will join the Frankfurt office to help drive its commercial litigation activity.
Nils joins the dispute resolution team headed by Dr. Mathias Wittinghofer in Germany. Nils, previously of Jones Day, advises clients in a wide range of dispute resolution matters with a particular focus on litigation. He works across multiple sectors, including financial services, automotive, technology, engineering and real estate.
Mathias Wittinghofer said: Adding Nils to our continuously growing team is a stroke of luck. Not only is he an exceptional lawyer who will bolster the breadth and depth of the team on senior level, allowing us to cater to clients' needs even more widely. He is also someone I have worked with for almost 10 years and this special connection will translate into seamless service for our clients.
This latest recruitment, part of a wider strategy of expansion on an international level and growth in Germany, will bring the German practice to a current team of 11 partners and more than 30 lawyers, as well as business services and staff. The Frankfurt office, which launched last year, advises across corporate/M&A, capital markets, finance, real estate, dispute resolution, IP and employment.
Dr. Lars-Gerrit Luessmann, Co-Lead of Gowling WLG Germany, added: We've been clear about our ambitions for further growth in Germany and we're delighted to yet again be delivering on the next stage of our strategy by strengthening our dispute resolution practice. Together with our new and sizeable team across Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich, we are delivering our promise of 'always closer' to our clients in line with our core values.
Gowling WLG is a fantastic law firm with immense growth potential, both globally and especially in Germany, where this is particularly highlighted by its new role as a strategic partner of the BUJ. I am thrilled to contribute to this dynamic growth, said Nils about his start at Gowling WLG.
Gowling WLG has more than 1,500 legal professionals in 19 cities worldwide.
