Dentons advises AIM-listed Hurricane Energy on its c. £74 million capital raising and open offer

London—Dentons has advised Hurricane Energy plc (Hurricane), the oil and gas fractured basement specialist, on a circa £74 million capital raising and open offer to existing shareholders. The funds will be used by Hurricane to advance the development and delineation of its Greater Lancaster Area assets in the North Sea and to secure the development timetable for the EPS phase of its Lancaster asset.

Vinge advises Ellevio on the acquisition of electricity network business in Nynäshamn (Nynäshamn Energi AB) from Kraftringen Energi. As a result, approximately 16,000 customers get a new network owner. The electricity network in Nynäshamn/Ösmo borders Ellevio’s regional network in Stockholm and further strengthens Ellevio’s already strong position in the Greater Stockholm area.

Matheson advises ElectroRoute on major new partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation

Matheson recently advised leading Irish energy trading and services firm ElectroRoute and its founders on a major new partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation.  The deal which was announced on 14 October 2016 has seen Mitsubishi taking a 60% stake in the Irish company.  The deal will allow ElectroRoute, which already trades across eight European markets, to continue to scale its operations internationally with the support of a company with a market capitalisation today in excess of €32 billion.

innogy SE's €4.9 Billion IPO

Cravath represented RWE AG and innogy SE in connection with innogy SE's €4.9 billion initial public offering of ordinary bearer shares, the largest IPO in Germany since 2000 and the fourth largest in the history of Germany. Formerly known as RWE International SE, innogy SE resulted from a carve-out of RWE AG's established electricity distribution and supply, retail and renewable energy divisions. The shares were listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The transaction closed on October 11, 2016.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Tenaga Nasional Berhad on its debut US$750m sukuk issuance

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Tenaga Nasional Berhad (“TNB”), Malaysia’s largest electricity utility company, on its ten-year US$750 million sukuk issuance, which closed on October 19, 2016. The sukuk was issued via TNB’s wholly-owned Malaysian-incorporated special purpose company, TNB Global Ventures Capital Berhad, and marks the first issuance under the newly established US$2.5 billion Multicurrency Sukuk Issuance Programme on which Norton Rose Fulbright also advised.
