Willkie advised Veritas Petroleum Group, a portfolio company of IK Investments Partners, on its recent refinancing. The Veritas Petroleum Group was bought by IK Investment Partners Limited in 2013 and the latest refinancing included the re-financing in full of the existing bonds and part of the term debt.

WBD advises OVO Energy on acquisition

Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised Bristol-based OVO Energy, one of the UK’s largest independent energy suppliers, on its acquisition of Selkirk-based Spark Energy, taking over its 290,000 domestic customer accounts.

Energy industry regulator Ofgem chose OVO through its "supplier of last resort" process. OVO will ensure that Spark Energy will continue to serve customers through its existing team, with minimal disruption to the service.

China International Water & Electric Corp., a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corp., builder of the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world, has signed two concession agreements with the Republic of Guinea – one concerning the operation of the hydroelectric power plant of Kaléta and the other concerning the construction and operation of the Souapiti hydropower plant as well as two power purchase agreements with the state utility, Electricité de Guinée (EDG).
