Milbank Advises EIG Global Energy Partners on the Sale of Glens of Foudland, Lynn and Inner Dowsing Wind Farms

LONDON, 8 February 2016 - Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has advised EIG Global Energy Partners in the joint sale with their 50% joint venture partner Centrica plc, of the Glens of Foudland, Lynn and Inner Dowsing wind farms (‘GLID’) to a consortium comprising of funds managed by BlackRock and the UK Green Investment Bank Offshore Wind Fund.  The enterprise value is approximately £423 million.

Gasum Oy: Acquisition of Biovakka

Castrén & Snellman acted as the legal advisor to Gasum Oy in a transaction whereby Gasum and the private shareholders of Biovakka Oy signed an agreement on the transfer of the full shareholding of Biovakka to Gasum on 1 February 2016. The transaction is expected to be completed during February 2016. Biovakka Suomi Oy has been an associated company of Gasum since 2009 (with a 20% shareholding). The acquisition is part of Gasum’s strategy deployment and growth in the biogas business.

Conergy aquires 25 MW Ichinoseki Solar Power 1 GK (ISP1) project in Iwate, Japan

Baker & McKenzie has advised Conergy Japan K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of Conergy, one of the world's largest downstream solar companies, on the acquisition, development, sale and conclusion of EPC contracts for the construction of the 25.88 megawatt (MW) Ichinoseki photovoltaic mega solar power plant in Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

WFW advise Lite-On on sale of six Italian PV plants

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“)  advised Lite-On Green Energy B.V., a renewable energy company belonging to the Taiwanese Lite-On Group, on the sale of six PV plants in the Calabria and Lazio region with a total capacity of 4 MW to sale to Luxemburgish fund IKAV EE S.a.r.l.

The WFW team who advised Lite-On on all the contractual, real estate, administrative and regulatory aspects of the transaction was led by Rome corporate partner Tiziana Manenti, assisted by Counsel Luca Sfrecola and associates Cristina Betti and Giovanni Incardona.

WFWAP advises M3nergy on US$265m acquisition of FPSO Bertam owner from Lundin Petroleum AB

Watson Farley & Williams Asia Practice LLP (“WFWAP”) advised long-standing client M3nergy Berhad (“M3nergy”), a subsidiary of the Sabah Development Bank, on the acquisition of Lundin Services Limited (“LSL”), a Labuan company which owns the FPSO Bertam from Lundin Petroleum AB (“Lundin”).

The transaction, which is worth US$265 million, is slated to complete during the first quarter of 2016.

CMS advises on a global settlement of FiT reduction disputes with TSO in Bulgaria

CMS has successfully advised three of the key renewable energy companies operating in Bulgaria on a global out-of-court settlement with the Bulgarian Transmission System Operator (“ESO” EAD) regarding the Feed-In-Tariff (“FiT”) reduction recovery. The photovoltaic power producers - with installed capacity exceeding 100 MWp were represented by CMS and achieved the successful repayment of the illegally imposed by the Bulgarian State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission grid access fees collected by “ESO” EAD between September 2012 and December 2013.
