King & Wood Mallesons advised AAG Energy on its red chip listing on the main board of HKSE

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised AAG Energy Holdings Limited (AAG Energy) on its successful red chip listing on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.(stock code: 02686). The shares have been offered globally, and are crowned the first stock to be offered by a Chinese Coal Bed Methane (CBM) commercial developer. In this project, a total number of761.4million shares have been issued globally with net proceeds of approximately HKD $1.923 billion after deduction of the underwriting commissions and other  expenses.

Eversheds advises SunEdison on acquisition of energy efficiency company

Eversheds has advised SunEdison on the acquisition of Mark Group, a full service energy solutions provider based in Leicester. Mark Group had previously been a SunEdison solar sales and installation partner.

Mark Group currently offers approximately two million UK customers energy-efficient solar systems, heating systems, and insulation products. This acquisition will open up a direct sales channel to the UK residential and commercial solar business.

White & Case Advises Eranove on Hydroelectric Dam PPP Project in the Republic of Mali

White & Case LLP has advised Eranove on a Public-Private Partnership agreement to develop a 42MW hydroelectric dam in Kenié, Mali, for an estimated total amount of €110 million.

The agreement, signed on June 18, 2015 between Eranove and the Republic of Mali, comprises the financing, construction and operation of the dam for 30 years through Eranove's new subsidiary Kenié Energie Renouvelable, incorporated for this project. Construction is due to begin in 2016 and the operation of the hydroelectric dam is scheduled to start in 2020.

Korea Gas Corporation Completes US$500 Million Notes Offering

Simpson Thacher recently represented Korea Gas Corporation in connection with the update of its US$8 billion global medium term notes program and offering of US$500 million 3.5% Senior Notes due 2025 under the global medium term notes program. The offering was conducted in reliance upon Rule 144A and Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended.

BLP advises Halite Energy Group on nationally significant infrastructure project

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has acted for Halite Energy Group in the successful making of “The Preesall Underground Gas Storage Facility Order 2015”, which grants development consent for an underground gas storage facility in Preesall, Lancashire.

The Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change made the order on 17 July 2015, stating in his decision that the facility would make a “nationally significant” contribution to ensure the UK’s security of gas supply.

Gide has advised Solairedirect, a reference player in the solar energy production market, its founders and financial shareholders (Demeter Partners, Techfund Europe, Aster Capital and Ofi Asset Management) on the 95% sale of its share capital to ENGIE. ENGIE was advised by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP.

Setterwalls has assisted Arise AB (publ) in connection with its sale of the wind farm Ryssbol to KumBro Vind AB.wind The wind farm consists of six wind turbines with a total effect of 12 MW. Construction is planned to start in November 2015 and the wind farm will be operational after approx. 12 months. The deal is subject to approval from the owners of KumBro Vind AB (Örebro and Kumla municipalities).
