WFW advises Bomin Linde LNG on a contract with Aktien-Gesellschaft EMS for the first regular delivery of marine LNG in Germany

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised Bomin Linde LNG GmbH & Co. KG (“Bomin Linde LNG”) on the first supply agreement in Germany for the delivery of liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) as marine fuel. The low-emission propulsion fuel will be delivered to the shipping company Aktien-Gesellschaft EMS (“AG EMS”) for one of its ferries in the German port of Emden.

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Cavendish Fluor Partnership, a joint venture between Cavendish Nuclear and Fluor Corporation, on its successful bid to acquire Magnox Limited and Research Sites Restoration Limited ("RSRL"), the Site Licence Companies for 12 nuclear sites in the UK.

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority ("NDA") announced on 31 March 2014 that Cavendish Fluor Partnership had been named as the preferred bidder.

Burges Salmon has advised GDF SUEZ on the acquisition of leading independent wind energy developer West Coast Energy (WCE). West Coast Energy has been operating in the UK for over 18 years and has successfully developed 650 MW of wind capacity, representing nine per cent of the installed onshore wind capacity in the UK. WCE has a significant pipeline of onshore wind development projects under evaluation with a capacity of 200 MW. GDF SUEZ has been working in partnership with West Coast Energy to develop wind projects since 2008.

International law firm, Osborne Clarke advised the shareholders of West Coast Energy Ltd (WCE) on its sale to GDF SUEZ, the French power group.

West Coast Energy has been operating in the UK for over 18 years and has successfully developed 650 MW of wind capacity, representing nine per cent of the installed onshore wind capacity in the UK. WCE has a significant pipeline of onshore wind development projects under evaluation with a capacity of 200 MW.

Addleshaw Goddard advises on US$250 million Nigerian gas pipeline deal

The Africa Business Group recently advised Seven Energy International Limited on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of East Horizon Gas Company Limited from Oando PLC for total consideration of up to US$250 million. The deal closed on 31st March 2014 and will strengthen Seven Energy’s position as a leading independent gas marketing and distribution company in the south east Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Its gas pipeline network in the region now stands at over 260 km long.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises RWE Innogy on its £220m sale of stake in Gwynt y Mor offshore wind farm

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised RWE Innogy on the terms for the sale of a 10 per cent share in the Gwynt y Mor offshore wind farm to UK Green Investment Bank. The sale will close when the construction of Gwynt y Mor is completed, expected to be towards the end of 2014.

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised ContourGlobal on the acquisition of a 5 MW solar portfolio from Sorgenia Solar S.r.l., a subsidiary of the leading Italian energy company Sorgenia S.p.A. The solar portfolio is located in the Sardinia, Sicilia and Calabria Regions and is owned and managed by four project companies.

The acquisition falls within the scope of ContourGlobal’s strategy, which is to consolidate its presence in the Italian renewable market with a proposed target of 100MW.

Ashurst advised Luxembourg-based 3W Power S.A., the holding company of Dutch AEG Power Solutions B.V. (AEG PS), on an agreement with major creditors of its €100 million corporate bond on essential economic principles of financial restructuring. The agreement is subject to approval required from the upcoming bondholders' meeting to be held on Monday, 9 April 2014, in Frankfurt am Main.
