WFW advises AIM-listed Tower Resources plc on an acquisition, placing and open offer

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised London-based oil and gas exploration company Tower Resources plc (“Tower”) on the acquisition of a 20% carried interest in Marovoay Block 2012, which covers an area of more than 8,400 km2 in northern Madagascar.


The acquisition is to be funded through the conditional purchase of Wilton Petroleum Limited, a private UK registered exploration company, for an initial consideration of US$1.75 million in cash and 120 million ordinary shares.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises PV Crystalox Solar Silicon on the management buy-out of the production site in Bitterfeld, Germany

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright advised PV Crystalox Solar Silicon GmbH, a subsidiary of PV Crystalox Solar plc, Oxfordshire, on the sale of its production site in Bitterfeld, Germany, to a company founded by the management and investors. Primary object of the transaction was the high-tech plant for the production of polysilicon. Construction costs for the plant amounted to €120m. Silicon Products Research Engineering Production GmbH will continue operating the plant within the scope of the management buy-out.

WFW advises Global Power Services on acquisition of Ascent Resources Italia

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has assisted Global Power Sources S.r.l. in the acquisition of its 100% stake in Ascent Resources Italia S.r.l. from Ascent Resources Plc for approximately €8 million.

WFW advised Global Power Sources on the negotiation, drafting and finalisation of the contractual documentation concerning the acquisition.

DLA Piper advises National Grid on sale of land to Redrow Homes

DLA Piper has advised National Grid on the sale of approximately 95 acres of land near Ebbsfleet Green, North Kent to Redrow Homes Limited. Contracts were exchanged on 28 June 2013.

The site, situated just 700 metres from Ebbsfleet International Station, with direct high-speed trains into Central London and to the Continent, has been sold with a purchase price of at least GBP32 million. Redrow Homes Limited have acquired the land with the benefit of a resolution to grant planning permission for up to 1,500 residential units and 22,000 square metres of commercial space.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Scira Offshore Energy on £193m wind farm transmission assets disposal

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Scira Offshore Energy Limited, a joint venture company owned equally by Statoil ASA and Startkraft AS, on the £193 million disposal of the transmission assets of the 317 MW Sheringham Shoal wind farm. The transmission assets have been acquired by the Blue Transmission consortium, comprising of Macquarie Capital, Barclays Infrastructure Funds, Mitsubishi Corporation and Frontier Power.
