White & Case Advises on ACEA's €3 Billion EMTN Programme Update

Global law firm White & Case LLP advised Italy-based integrated multi-utility Acea S.p.A., as issuer, on the Italian and English law aspects of the update of its €3 billion Euro Medium Term Note Programme.

The White & Case team in Milan which advised on the transaction included partner Ferigo Foscari and local partner Paul Alexander, associate Davide Diverio and lawyer Alessandro Piga.

Gilbert + Tobin advises on largest non-government IPO

Gilbert + Tobin advised Viva Energy Group Limited (Viva Energy) on its successful initial public offering (IPO) and listing on the Australian Securities Exchange. It is the largest IPO in Australia for 4 years and the largest non-government IPO in Australian corporate history.

Viva Energy, the former Australian downstream business operated by Shell, raised $2.4 billion under the IPO at $2.50 per share, giving it a market capitalisation of $4.8 billion (based on the issue price).

Ashurst advises Banks Renewables on UK wind farm refinancing

International law firm Ashurst advised Banks Renewables, the renewable energy division of property and energy business the Banks Group, on the £82 million refinancing of seven of its existing wind farms across northern England, five of which were built using external finances and two using Banks' own capital reserves.

The new funding, financed by National Australia Bank and Santander, will be utilised in a number of projects, including Banks Renewables' forward programme of onshore wind farms as well as for a number of other planned projects.
