Herbert Smith Freehills advises on Victoria’s Lal Lal Wind Farms

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Macquarie Capital and the project companies on the project development, corporate sale, offtake arrangements and project financing of the 228MW Lal Lal Wind Farms to be developed in Victoria’s Central Highlands.

Comprised of the Elaine and Yendon wind farms, the Lal Lal Wind Farms will consist of 60 Vestas V136 3.8MW turbines and once operational will produce enough green energy to power about 95,000 homes and save 780,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. The project achieved financial close on 15 June 2018.

Ashurst advises Jemena on an agreement with Senex Energy to build, own and operate the Atlas Gas Processing Plant and Pipeline

Ashurst has advised Jemena Limited on its Gas Processing and Transport Agreement and a Project Agreement with Senex Energy to build, own and operate the Atlas Gas Processing Plant and Pipeline (AGPP).

The AGPP will connect Senex’s new ‘Atlas’ gas field in the Surat Basin in south-east Queensland with Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline and the Wallumbilla Gas Hub - the largest gas hub in Australia.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Enertronica S.p.A. on the structuring of N$100 million financing made available to the special purpose vehicle Sertum Energy Namibia (Proprietary) Limited and on the negotiation and finalization of the finance documents with Bank Windhoek.

Enertronica S.p.A is an Italian listed company active in the energy and mobility sectors.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises on creation of one of the world’s largest independent crude tanker operator

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Gener8 Maritime Inc on its merger with Euronav NV. Gener8 will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Euronav.

The merger will create one of the world’s largest independent large crude tanker operators, with joint balance sheet assets of US$4 billion.

Osborne Clarke advises TRIG on Solwaybank acquisition

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited (“TRIG”) on its acquisition of Solwaybank, an onshore wind farm located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

Solwaybank is in the early stages of construction and expected to become operational in Q1 2020. Once complete, Solwaybank will comprise 15 Senvion MM100 wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 2.0MW, amounting to 30MW.

Corrs advises Peabody Australia on sale of Wotonga South coking coal deposit

Australia’s leading independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, has advised Peabody Australia in relation to the recently announced sale of the Wotonga South project to Stanmore Coal.

Peabody Australia will sell the Wotonga South coking coal deposit contained in two mining tenements (MDL 137 and EPC 728) to Stanmore Coal for A$30 million cash plus a production based royalty capped at circa A$10 million.

CMS advises Scatec Solar on developing solar power plants in Ukraine

CMS has advised Scatec Solar ASA (Scatec Solar), a Norway-based solar power producer, on securing two solar projects in the Cherkassy region of Ukraine. The projects, with a capacity of 33 MW and 50 MW, will be the first step towards developing a larger portfolio of solar power plants in the country for Scatec.

CMS team advised Scatec Solar on due diligence of these projects, as well as their subsequent acquisition, including transactional documents under English law.
