Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Qatar Petroleum on the integration of QatarGas and RasGas.

The transaction creates the world's largest LNG company. The integration became effective on January 1, 2018, from which date all the activities of Qatargas and RasGas are now operated by the new 'Qatargas'.

The White & Case team was co-led by partners Philip Stopford and Michiel Visser and included a cross-disciplinary team of lawyers from White & Case offices around the world.

DLA Piper advises Pacific Energy on acquisition of Contract Power

The transaction involves Pacific Energy acquiring 100% of the shares in Contract Power and certain assets or other related entities for AU$90 million, comprising AU$85 million cash and AU$5 million in Pacific Energy shares.

Eversheds Sutherland acts for Shell on US$329 million strategic divestment in Oman

Eversheds Sutherland has assisted Shell on the strategic sale of Shell Exploration and Production Oman Limited (SEPOL) to Indian Oil Corporation subsidiary IOCL Singapore PTE Ltd, in a transaction worth US$329 million.

As a result of the deal, Indian Oil Corporation will hold a 17% interest in the Mukhaizna Production Sharing Agreement in Oman, as well as the Marketing Rights for entitlement oil. The sale is part of Shell’s wider strategy to sell non-core assets or companies to meet its divestment target of US$30 billion.

SERD is a joint venture owned by French utility company ENGIE, Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and Indonesian geothermal energy producer PT Supreme Energy.
