DLA Piper advises OX2 on the sale of Valhalla wind farm

DLA Piper has advised OX2 on its sale of the 357 MW wind farm to Aquila Capital, a leading European manager of alternative investments.

The financing of the Valhalla project comprising of 85 wind turbines has been successfully completed. Aquila Capital will acquire the project, which OX2 will deliver as an EPC contract, and it will be one of the largest onshore wind farms in Europe. The permits for the park have been developed in cooperation between OX2 and Bergvik Skog.

WFW advises Blue Elephant Energy AG on acquisition of 20 MW Italian wind farm

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised Blue Elephant Energy AG (“BEE”) on its acquisition of a 20 MW wind farm in Italy. The seller is a company in the European Energy Group, the buyer BEEGO IPP GmbH, an affiliate of BEE. The wind farm, located in the province of Potenza in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, comprises ten Vestas V110-2MW type wind turbines with a total capacity of 20 MW and has been operational since early 2017.

Milbank Advises Seaoil Philippines on Its Strategic Partnership with Caltex Australia

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has advised Seaoil Philippines, Inc., the country’s largest independent fuel operator, in a strategic partnership with Caltex Australia Petroleum Pty Ltd. Caltex will acquire a 20% equity interest in Seaoil.

The transaction, valued at US$100 million, will allow Seaoil to benefit from Caltex’s support for continued growth strategy.

WFW advises PNE WIND AG on sale of minority stake in 142 MW wind farm portfolio to Allianz Renewable Energy Fund II

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised PNE WIND AG (“PNE“) on the sale of its remaining 20%  stake in a 142 MW wind farm portfolio to Allianz Renewable Energy Fund II (“AREF II”), an investment fund managed by Allianz Global Investors GmbH, for €23m. PNE remains responsible for the technical, commercial and operational management of the wind farms in the portfolio.

King & Wood Mallesons advises China General Nuclear Power Corporation on its overseas issuance of multi-currency bond issuance

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) as its international and PRC counsel on its EUR500 million seven-year euro-denominated green bonds and USD900 million US dollar-denominated debt with multi-period in the Irish and Hong Kong Stock Exchange respectively (the “Bonds”). The bonds are issued by CGNPC International Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of CGN and unconditionally guaranteed by CGN. The complex multi-currency transaction with several periods in two regions, is rarely seen in the market.

The team also advised on its proposed delisting from the Official List of the London Stock Exchange and the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.
