The transaction involved:

    the set-up of a joint venture - Red Wind - between the Dutch wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey and NovaWind to supply 388 wind turbines to Rosatom's subsidiary VetroSGC by 2022
    the conclusion of a Wind turbine technology licensing agreement, under which Lagerwey  provides technology and expertise in 2.5MW and 4.5MW turbines for the joint venture
    the conclusion of a components supply agreement, for the supply by Lagerwey of the first 60 wind turbines

PKN Orlen seeks full control of Unipetrol

Baker McKenzie's Prague and Warsaw offices advised PKN Orlen, the largest Polish petrol retailer and oil refiner, in relation to its bid to acquire the remaining shares of Unipetrol a.s., the Czech Republic’s largest petrochemical and refining group.

The Baker McKenzie team advising Orlen was led by Prague-based partners Alexandr Cesar and Libor Basl, as well as by Tomasz Krzyzowski and Krzysztof Haladyj, partners from the Warsaw office.

McCann FitzGerald advises Greencoat Renewables on Acquisition of Drommada More Wind Farm

We advised Greencoat Renewables (Greencoat) on its acquisition of the 36MW Drommada More wind farm from Impax Asset Management for €88.4 million.  The farm, which is expected to be formally commissioned in March 2018, will benefit from a full 15 years of REFIT-2 revenues, guaranteeing a minimum floor price for the electricity produced by the asset.

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP advised Abotiz Power, Ayala Corporation’s AC Energy Holdings Co. and Power Partners as sponsors in connection with GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co.’s US$1.7 billion supercritical coal-fired power plant project in Bataan Province in the Philippines. Milbank represented the project in the first 668 MW unit closing in September 2016, and the project will now be expanded to include a second 668 MW unit.

Allen & Overy has advised Pengerang Terminals (Two) Sdn Bhd ("PT2SB") and its sponsors in connection with a USD1.25 billion senior financing facility with a syndicate of nine international banks. The project, which is a joint venture between Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Royal Vopak Group, Dialog Group Berhad and the State Secretary, Johor (Incorporated) achieved financial close on 19 December 2017.

WFW advises Blue Elephant Energy AG on acquisition of 20 MW Italian wind farm

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised Blue Elephant Energy AG (“BEE”) on its acquisition of a 20 MW wind farm in Italy. The seller is a company in the European Energy Group, the buyer BEEGO IPP GmbH, an affiliate of BEE. The wind farm, located in the province of Potenza in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, comprises ten Vestas V110-2MW type wind turbines with a total capacity of 20 MW and has been operational since early 2017.
