Clifford Chance advises Eurus and YARD on Windpark Deil as it reaches financial close

Eurus Energy Group (“Eurus”), a leading Japanese renewable energy company, and YARD ENERGY Group (“YARD”), a Dutch-based developer of wind energy projects, jointly announced that they have achieved financial close for the construction of Windpark Deil, a 21-MW wind farm in Gelderland, The Netherlands, comprising 5 WTGs. Clifford Chance was lead counsel and responsible for the due diligence, project documents, shareholder agreements and borrower's counsel for the project finance transaction.

Gide, counsel on refinancing the Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage (SIR) debt of 577 million euros

Gide has acted, alongside Ivorian firm KSK, on the implementation of a FCFA 378 billion (EUR 577 million) syndicated loan for SIR. This loan enables SIR, the region's most high-performing refinery of the West African sub-region, to refinance its commercial debt so that it may boost its activities to face the growing demand for refined products in Côte d'Ivoire and the entire sub-region.

Gide and KSK advised Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage and the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.

WFW advises Total Eren on €200m refinancing of 157 MW renewables portfolio

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised French renewables developer Total Eren and its Greek subsidiaries on a €200m Greek law cross-collateralised bond loan refinancing of three project companies, holding four operating wind farms and seven PV projects with a combined capacity of 157 MW with Eurobank Ergasias and Alpha Bank.  Eurobank Ergasias acted as bondholder agent.

Leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Enertrag, leading German developer, on the sale of Project Goudelancourt, a 16.8MW wind farm located in Northern France to Glennmont Partners, one of Europe’s largest clean energy investment specialists. The wind farm was developed and is currently under construction by Enertrag.

Pinsent Masons advises on second major financing agreement for US$530 million Belt and Road power station in Pakistan

International law firm Pinsent Masons has advised on the project financing of a second 330MW coal-fired power station in Pakistan, using coal from the adjoining Thar Block II mine.

Pinsent Masons acted for Thar Energy Limited, the power stations developer, which when up and running will be critical in helping Pakistan address its electricity shortage. It is one of the biggest major project financing agreements under the Belt and Road China-Pakistan economic corridor, which covers $46 billion worth of infrastructure projects.

HERBERT SMITH FREEHILLS ADVISES JERA ON ITS STAKE IN UK WIND FARM

Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised JERA Co, Inc, on its acquisition of a 24.95% stake in the Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm project in the United Kingdom from Marubeni Corporation.

The Gunfleet Sands project has 172.8MW of installed capacity consisting of 48 fixed-bottom offshore wind power generators located off the Essex coast, and began operations in April 2010.

Macfarlanes advises Circularity Capital as debut fund closes at £60m hard cap

Macfarlanes has advised specialist investment firm Circularity Capital on the raising of its debut fund, Circularity European Growth Fund I LP, which has exceeded its £50m target and closed at its £60m hard cap.
Investment commitments came from global financial institutions, family offices, private investors and strategic corporate investors with funds being used to invest in growth stage European SMEs in the circular economy.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Enel Green Power on the $605m financing for a 1 GW portfolio of solar PV parks in Mexico

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Enel Green Power S.p.A. (EGP), as sponsor, and three project companies as borrowers (Villanueva Solar, Parque Solar Don Jose and Parque Solar Villanueva Tres) on a $605m limited recourse financing of a 1 GW portfolio of solar PV parks in Mexico comprised of: Villanueva I (470 MW), Villanueva III (350 MW) and Don Jose (220 MW). EGP entered the Mexican renewables market in 2008 and is currently the main clean energy operator in the country.
