Slaughter and May, working as a team with Cleary, Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, advised Abbey National Treasury Services plc in relation to the issue of US$ 1,000,000,000 notes under its SEC registered US shelf facility.

The issue, announced on 24 August 2015, comprises US$ 750,000,000 2.000% notes due 2018 and US$ 250,000,000 floating rate notes due 2018.

Linklaters advises on the first international exchangeable bond which is exchangeable into Hong Kong listed H-shares

Linklaters has advised the underwriters in connection with Baosteel Group’s issuance of a US$500 million bond exchangeable into Hong Kong listed H-shares of China Construction Bank Corporation.

Hwang Hwa Sim, Capital Markets partner at Linklaters who led on this transaction, said the deal opens up a new asset class for investors and has created pricing visibility for future equity linked deals from the 200-plus China incorporated companies whose H-shares are listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

Clifford Chance advises banking consortium on refinancing of Techem Group

Clifford Chance advised a banking consortium including, among others, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Commerzbank, Crédit Agricole, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Scotland and UniCredit on the amend and extend of the existing senior debt facilities for German energy services provider, Techem.

The resulting financing package comprises currently committed facilities having a total volume of EUR 815 million.

Clifford Chance advises China Construction Bank on the acquisition of a Frankfurt property

Clifford Chance has advised China Construction Bank on the acquisition of the Bockenheimer Landstraße 73-77 property in Frankfurt.

The property includes an office building constructed in 1962, with a gross external area (GEA) of around 6,800 square metres, and a residential property of about 1,000 sqare metres GEA built in 1996. The seller is Frankfurt Union GmbH.
