PPG Industries, Inc. €1.2 Billion Notes Offering

Davis Polk advised underwriters represented by BNP Paribas, HSBC Bank plc and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International plc on a public offering by PPG Industries, Inc. (PPG) of €600 million aggregate principal amount of 0.875% notes due 2022 and €600 million aggregate principal amount of 1.400% notes due 2027.   

PPG is a leading coatings and specialty products company. Founded in 1883, PPG serves customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets.  

Clifford chance advises international banking consortium on the financing of the offshore wind farm "nordsee one"

Clifford Chance has advised a consortium of international banks on the financing of an offshore wind farm off the northern coast of Germany called "Nordsee One".

The ten banks participating in the consortium advised by Clifford Chance included ABN AMRO, Bank of Montreal, Commerzbank, Export Development Canada, Helaba, KfW IPEX, National Bank of Canada, Natixis, Rabobank and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi. In total, they are providing approximately 70% of the project’s required costs by way of an EUR 840 million non-recourse secured facility.

Mondelez International, Inc. announced the issuance of CHF 675,000,000 FATCA-compliant Bonds. Credit Suisse AG acted as joint-lead manager together with UBS AG. The bonds will be listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

Homburger acted as counsel to Credit Suisse AG. The Homburger team consisted of René Bösch (Partner, Financial Services), Eduard De Zordi (Counsel, Financial Services) and Bettina Oertle (Paralegal, Financial Services).

Ashurst advises Deutsche Pfandbriefbank on major Swedish retail property deal

Ashurst advised Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG in connection with the financing of the acquisition of one of Sweden's leading shopping centres, Skärholmen Centrum, by funds advised by Grosvenor Fund Management.

Situated in one of Sweden's growing regions, Skärholmen Centrum is ranked in the top four shopping centres in the country by footfall, with 14 million visitors a year. The transaction is one of the biggest commercial real estate transactions in Sweden recently.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises HSBC on HK$1.15 billion top-up placing of shares in Xinyi Solar

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised HSBC as the sole placing agent in the HK$1.15 billion top-up placing of 500,000,000 shares in Xinyi Solar Holdings Limited.

The net proceeds from the transaction are intended to be used as capital expenditure of solar farm projects and solar glass production plant in Malaysia and general working capital of the Xinyi Solar Group.

Linklaters advises on the sale of Barclays Bank Pakistan to Habib Bank

Linklaters has advised Barclays on the sale of the entirety of its banking businesses in Pakistan to Habib Bank Limited (HBL) to be effected by way of a scheme of amalgamation. This is part of its programme of disposals of its non-core assets.

HBL is Pakistan’s largest bank offering a wide range of commercial and retail banking services. 

The deal is expected to be completed within the first half of 2015, subject to regulatory approval.

The Linklaters team is being led by Corporate partner Savi Hebbur and managing associate Sushil Jacob.

Irwin Mitchell’s Banking & Finance team has advised on a £5m funding deal for construction, property, engineering and facilities management firm, Eric Wright.

The Eric Wright Group, whose turnover was £153 million as at the end of 2013, will use the funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial to support the acquisition of new landbanks for development, help expand its fast-growing residential property unit, and also help capitalise on opportunities in the public sector, including from the NHS.

Dentons advised The Islamic Development Bank (the IsDB) on the update of the IsDB Trust Services Limited US$10 billion Trust Certificate Issuance Programme (the Programme) completed on 24 February 2015. Dentons also advised the IsDB on the issue of US$1 billion Trust Certificates due 2020 under the Programme, completed on 12 March 2015. The Programme was listed on the London Stock Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai.
