World leader in nuclear power Areva has just finalised a limited recourse financing for SET (Société d'Enrichissement du Tricastin), which owns and runs the Georges Besse 2 uranium enrichment plant in Tricastin, southwest France, the first centrifuge-base enrichment plant in France.

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised UBS AG, Hong Kong Branch; Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited; and CITIC Securities Corporate Finance (HK) Limited in relation to their role as the underwriters and joint sponsors of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Luye Pharma Group Ltd. ("Luye") and its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The IPO raised US$764 million, making it the world’s largest pharmaceutical company IPO in three years.

Linklaters advises banks on rights offering and issue of mandatory convertible notes for Dufry

Linklaters has advised the banks on a rights offering for Dufry AG, Switzerland. The rights offering is supposed to serve to finance a portion of the planned acquisition of the Nuance Group. Dufry expects to receive gross proceeds of approximately CHF 810 million. Linklaters has also advised the banks of the duty-free shop operator on the issue of mandatory convertible notes. The net proceeds of the issue are supposed to be used to fund in part the acquisition, as well.

The Firm represented the underwriters in the initial public offering in Hong Kong and Rule 144A/Regulation S offering by Tian Ge Interactive Holdings Limited (Tian Ge). Tian Ge offered an aggregate of 304,267,000 ordinary shares in the offering (before greenshoe) and raised gross proceeds of approximately HK$1.5 billion (US$192.8 million).

White & Case Advises First Domestic Offering by a Russian Issuer in 2014

White & Case LLP has advised Goldman Sachs International, J.P. Morgan, Sberbank CIB and VTB Capital, as joint global coordinators and joint bookrunners, and Citigroup and Gazprombank, as joint bookrunners, on the follow-on offering by the Central Bank of Russia of shares in the charter capital of Moscow Exchange, Russia's largest securities exchange group.

It is the first domestic offering by a Russian issuer in 2014 to date and represents a transaction value of approximately US$469 million.

Castle Trust turns to Macfarlanes for Castle Trust Direct £1.5bn note programme

Macfarlanes has advised the Castle Trust group in relation to the establishment of Castle Trust Direct plc's £1.5bn programme for the issuance of fixed and floating rate notes to be offered by Castle Trust as Fortress Bonds.

These bonds diversify the Castle Trust investment range and, together with their award winning house price trackers, enable them to meet increasing demand on the mortgage side of their business.
