Norton Rose Fulbright advises Macquarie, Cleco on US$1bn purchase of NRG facility

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised Macquarie Infrastructure Partners and Cleco Corporate Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Macquarie, on Cleco’s US$1 billion purchase of NRG South Central Generating LLC.

Cleco and NRG South Central Generating, a subsidiary of NRG Energy, closed the deal on February 4, a year after the companies signed a purchase and sales agreement, following various state and federal regulatory approvals.

Dechert LLP advised Ares Management Limited (Ares) on the refinancing of Daisy Group (Daisy) to support the founder of the business, Matthew Riley, in an MBO from existing minority investor Toscafund. The refinancing of Daisy is one of the largest European private credit transactions ever completed.
 
Daisy was founded in 2001 by executive chairman Matthew Riley and has since grown to be the leading independent provider of IT, communications and cloud services to UK businesses.

DLA Piper has advised HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG on the acquisition of the “Office Center Überseestadt” for one of its open-ended special real estate funds from companies of the Gustav Zech Foundation.
 
The asset is located in Bremen’s Überseestadt district, one of Europe’s largest urban development projects approximately three kilometres west of Bremen city centre. The building complex comprising a rentable floor space of roughly 22,000 square metres, is being developed in two construction phases.
