DLA Piper represents AEye Inc. in US$16 million Series A funding round

DLA Piper represented AEye Inc., a developer and provider of advanced vision hardware, software and algorithms that act as the eyes and visual cortex of autonomous vehicles, in its US$16 million Series A funding round from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Airbus Ventures, Intel Capital, R7 Partners, Trucks Venture Capital and Tyche Partners, among other investors. 

Founded in 2013, AEye created an advanced sensory system using its solid state LiDAR scanner to provide autonomous vehicles with better vision intelligence.

Shearman & Sterling Advises on Chinasoft International’s HK$900 Million Convertible Notes Issuance to Dan Capital

Shearman & Sterling advised Hong Kong-listed Chinasoft International Limited on its issuance of HK$900 million 3.0% convertible notes due 2022 to Dan Capital, a major investment fund.

Chinasoft International is a large-scale integrated software and information technology company in China. It is a provider of end-to-end software and information services. Its businesses cover various industries such as government, manufacturing, finance, telecommunications, high technologies, public utilities and energy.

 Hogan Lovells advised Naver, Korea's leading Internet company, in relation to its acquisition of the Xerox Research Centre Europe located in Grenoble. The agreement is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017.

Founded in 1993, the Xerox Research Centre Europe has focused its research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing and ethnography. In addition to a strong foothold in Europe, Naver expects to generate significant synergies from this acquisition.

Osborne Clarke is representing Sony Music Italy in an IP dispute regarding an injunction to block the sale of Roger Water’s new album Is This The Life We Really Want? based on the contention the artwork infringes on the copyright of Italian artist Emilo Isgrò.

Representing Sony Music’s Director Alfredo Clarizia at the interim hearing on 27th June, Osborne Clarke’s award winning Italian intellectual property team successfully argued that a provisional order issued previously at a hearing before Sony Music were informed of the claim, be revoked.

The proceeds of the entitlement offer will be used to assist in funding Link Group's ~ AUD$1.5 billion acquisition of Capita Asset Services (CAS).

Allgeier SE, which is based in Munich and listed on the stock exchange, has increased its share capital by almost 10% using authorized capital. As part of the transaction, 907,149 bearer shares were issued at a placement price of EUR 18.10 per share. Using a book building process, the new shares were placed without a prospectus with international institutional investors, corporate members of the company and other executives of the Allgeier Group.
