Mayer Brown advises Entertainment One on FTSE 250 listing

Leading global law firm Mayer Brown has advised Entertainment One Ltd on its inclusion in the FTSE 250 index, which will take effect from 23 September. The FTSE indexing is the culmination of a busy 12 months for Entertainment One, starting with the acquisition of Alliance Films and followed by its premium listing in July 2013, essential for the FTSE committee to consider a FTSE 250 inclusion.

Shearman & Sterling Advises on Viacom Closing of Acquisition of 51% of MTV Italia from Telecom Italia

Shearman & Sterling LLP advised Viacom Networks Europe, Inc. and its affiliate Viacom Global (Netherlands) B.V. on their acquisition of 51% of the corporate capital of MTV Italia S.r.l. (“MTVI”) from Telecom Italia Media S.p.A. (the media subsidiary of the Telecom Italia Group). The remaining 49% of the capital of MTVI is already held by the Viacom group, through Viacom Networks Europe, Inc.: MTVI is therefore currently entirely owned by the Viacom group. The definitive purchase price paid by Viacom amounted to €13.4 million.

Weightmans secures $5.5m funding for leading technology business Vee24

National law firm Weightmans LLP has advised leading technology company Vee24 on securing $5.5million in Series A funding from high tech venture funds Data Point Capital and Point Judith Capital.

Vee24 provides live website customer engagement systems to international retailers such as Audi, DFS and Vodafone, allowing them to deliver real-time help and advice over live video to customers browsing their websites. Vee24 systems are also used for Technical and sales support directly into stores via in-store touch-screen kiosks.

Debevoise advises Cinram in Saffron Digital acquisition

The London office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised Cinram on its acquisition of Saffron Digital Media from HTC Corp.

Cinram is one of the leading global manufacturers and distributors of Blu-ray, DVD and CD for motion picture studios. It’s a portfolio company of long-standing Debevoise client Najafi Companies, a US based private investment firm. Saffron Digital is a specialist provider of global management and delivery of premium multi-platform video services.

Clifford Chance advised Telegraaf Media Groep N.V. (TMG) in connection with the sale of 13,127,832 ordinary shares representing 6% in the capital of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, a German company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The launch of the transaction by way of an accelerated bookbuilding procedure was announced on 5 September 2013 after close of trading. Allocation and pricing took place in the morning of 6 September 2013. Deutsche Bank acted as the sole bookrunner and has underwritten the transaction, with ABN AMRO acting as financial adviser to TMG.
