On September 16, 2013, WilmerHale attorneys obtained a significant victory for OpenMarket Inc., a subsidiary of the firm's client Amdocs Inc., when Judge Allison Nathan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York granted OpenMarket's motion to stay pending arbitration. OpenMarket, along with 16 other parties, was sued by a group of putative class action plaintiffs for alleged violations of the Sherman Antitrust Act.

Osborne Clarke has advised leading cloud contact centre vendor NewVoiceMedia on a US$35m fundraising. The series 'C' funding from new investor Bessemer Venture Partners – together with existing investors Eden Ventures, Highland Capital and Notion Capital – will be used to fund NewVoiceMedia’s international expansion.

Debevoise Advises Verizon Communications on Record-Breaking $49 Billion Bond Offering

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP advised Verizon Communications Inc. in connection with its $49 billion bond offering, the largest-ever corporate bond issue. The deal will help finance Verizon’s acquisition of Vodafone's 45 percent interest in Verizon Wireless for $130 billion. The offering consisted of a mix of 3-year, 5-year, 7-year, 10-year, 20-year and 30-year maturities with fixed or floating interest rates.

(“SAIC”) in connection with the separation of its technical, engineering and enterprise information technology services business.  On September 9, 2013, the Board of Directors of SAIC approved the distribution to its stockholders of all the outstanding shares of SAIC Gemini, Inc., which will hold the spun-off business and be renamed Science Applications International Corporation (“Science Applications”) in connection with the completion of the separation.

The Firm represented Airvana Network Solutions Inc. (ANS) in its sale to Ericsson Inc. (Ericsson), a U.S. subsidiary of Ericsson A.B., a Swedish multinational technology company.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

ANS provides innovative, scalable radio access network (RAN) infrastructure that enables mobile operators to meet the growing demand for high-performance mobile data services and 3G-to-4G coexistence.  ANS’s mobile broadband RAN solution is fully integrated into Ericsson’s CDMA Access product line.
