BEST Inc. Completes US$450 Million NYSE IPO

Simpson Thacher represented BEST Inc. (“BEST”) in connection with its initial public offering and listing on the New York Stock Exchange of 45,000,000 American Depositary Shares, representing 45,000,000 Class A ordinary shares. BEST raised a total of US$450 million in gross proceeds from the IPO before exercise of the underwriters’ overallotment option. Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank acted as joint bookrunners. This is the largest IPO in the United States by a Chinese company this year to date.

Dentons advises Blue Code International on the implementation of a mobile payment system for Oktoberfest

Dentons has advised Blue Code International AG on the tax implications of launching Blue Code in Germany. The payment solution, which allows users to make cashless payments using their mobile phone, will be piloted at the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich. Blue Code is already well established in Austria, and is available at numerous retailers, including the REWE supermarkets. The implementation marks an important step in the company’s strategy to enter the German market.

Trowers advises creative start-up Easle.co on major funding deal

Trowers & Hamlins has advised start up online creative platform Easle, on their seed funding deal with creative heavyweights ustwo as lead investor.

Easle will use the funding to expand the platform to include Graphic Design, Animation, Photography and Videography, build an app and further develop their offering. Over time, Easle aims to provide tools to support its customers and creator’s day to day working lifestyle such as managing finances and accounts, as well as more specific tools to assist with flexible working.

Sheffield-based 3D printing firm, Additive Manufacturing Technologies Ltd (AMT), has announced a partnership deal with Midwest Prototyping LLC (MWP). 

AMT are the world’s first technology company focused on the post-processing of 3D printed parts. Midwest Prototyping specialises in providing 3D printed parts for prototyping as well as high volume end use production applications.

Eversheds Sutherland has acted as legal advisor for Digitalist Group Plc (Finland) in the acquisition of NodeOne Group AB (Sweden) and its subsidiaries, among others Wunderkraut Sweden AB. The transfer of the shares was carried out as an exchange of shares and the transaction was completed in August 2017. With the acquisition, Digitalist Group will expand its operations to the Swedish market and strengthen its offering of digitalization services.
