Trowers & Hamlins advises Apache Capital Partners on £145m deal in Birmingham City Centre

Trowers & Hamlins has advised Apache Capital Partners on the acquisition of their new 0.77-acre Birmingham development with Moda Living.

The premium purpose-built rental development on Broad Street, will be delivered by Moda Living, and will be fully funded by Apache Capital, the London and Gulf based private real estate investment management firm.

Eversheds advises PH Homes on land acquisition for luxury housing scheme

Eversheds has advised property developer PH Homes on its land acquisition at Alderley Park from Bruntwood and Manchester Science Partnership (MSP).

The scheme represents the first residential phase of the £160m masterplan at Alderley Park which will eventually see up to 275 homes and new sports and leisure facilities developed at the 400-acre Cheshire site. These projects sit alongside the on-going creation of a 38,000 sq m of state-of-the-art science space which received planning permission from Cheshire East Council earlier this year.

WFW advises DIF on UK Onshore Wind Farm Acquisition

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised DIF, a leading independent fund management company, on the acquisition of the Wadlow onshore wind farm. The project company, Wadlow Energy Limited, is financed by British retail and commercial bank, Lloyds.

Located in Cambridgeshire, the 26MW wind farm is capable of generating sufficient renewable energy to meet the annual requirements of nearly 17,000 UK homes.

Delphi has advised NIBE Industrier AB in the acquisition of the main parts of British - owned Enertech Group. Among the many well-known brands in the acquired group,
the most well-known is CTC. The acquired group offers a wide range of geothermal and air/water heat pumps, solar energy and biofuel products, as well as traditional oil and gas burners. The acquired group has around 460 employees and sales amounted to SEK 830 million in 2015 (GBP 72.7 million).

A team led by Dr. Stefan Proske, Partner at the Berlin office, represented Deutsche Hypothekenbank (Actien-Gesellschaft) in insolvency proceedings regarding the assets of HCB Project Development GmbH and advised it on the sale of Hansa Center, a shopping center in Bottrop. Hansa Center was acquired by publity group, a Leipzig-based financial investor in commercial real estate.

Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised China's United Photovoltaics Group Limited on the acquisition of six solar farms in the United Kingdom.

The solar farms are located in the UK counties of Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Cumbria and have a combined capacity of about 82.4mw.

HKEX-listed United PV is a leading investor and operator focusing on photovoltaics power plants in China, and its single largest shareholder is China Merchants Group.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Australian agricultural investment specialist Laguna Bay on the purchase of prime Victorian farmland known as Banongill Station.

This is the first acquisition by Laguna Bay Agricultural Fund 1, and follows Norton Rose Fulbright’s advisory role in the successful first close of the fund with approximately $280 million of investor backing.

Frasers Hospitality Trust purchases Novotel on Collins from LaSalle Asia Opportunity Fund

Baker & McKenzie advised Singaporean listed Frasers Hospitality Trust (Frasers) on the purchase of the Novotel on Collins from LaSalle Asia Opportunity Fund (LaSalle).

The Novotel on Collins is a 4 star, 380 room hotel located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD.

Baker & McKenzie lead partner on the transaction, Graeme Dickson stated: "The hotel is part of a major complex with a significant retail component (which our client did not purchase) which raised important strata title issues and complex cost allocation issues which were resolved."

Eubelius assists Pandox AB in the acquisition of the hotel Hilton Grand Place Brussels

Pandox AB, a leading owner of hotel properties in Northern Europe, has entered into an agreement to acquire Hilton Grand Place Brussels. This hotel, formerly known as “ Le Méridien”, is a full service hotel in the premium segment with 224 rooms and 17 conference rooms, and is located adjacent to the Grand Place in Brussels and the central station.

The acquisition for a price of EUR 55 million, is subject to a number of customary conditions precedents. Parties expect to complete the transaction during the fourth quarter of this year.
