Domestica II acquires rental apartments in Vallentuna

SEB's housing fund, Domestica II, has acquired 300 rental apartments in the real estate properties Vallentuna-Åby 1:166 and Vallentuna-Åby 1:171 from Magnolia Bostad. The sales are made through company transfers at a price of about SEK 100 million. Upon completion the property value is approximately SEK 500 million. The properties will be environmentally certified.

Domestica II was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. Klas Wennström was the partner responsible, primarily assisted by Natalie Bretz and Hannah Ström.

DLA Piper advises Knorr-Bremse on the acquisition of a Japanese transmission components business

DLA Piper has advised the Japanese subsidiary of the international automotive supplier, Knorr-Bremse AG, headquartered in Sakado-shi, Japan, on the acquisition of a transmission components business for on-highway commercial vehicles from Bosch in Japan for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition will enable Knorr-Bremse to develop and manufacture gear shift units and clutch actuators, as well as transmission control units for trucks and buses locally for the Asian market, thereby reinforcing its competitive position in the AMT and DCT transmission sector.

Linklaters advises Qatar Investment Authority on S$3.4 billion property deal

Real estate experts advise Growthpoint on A$166 million acquisition of Victorian office building

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Growthpoint Properties Australia Limited (Growthpoint) on a $166 million acquisition of a fully-leased A-grade office building in South Melbourne, Victoria.

Located at 75 Dorcas Street, the 11 storey building is 100% leased to several high profile tenants, including ANZ, food conglomerate Mondelez and BMW. The newly renovated property forms part of Melbourne’s city fringe office market.

Mayer Brown advises Universal-Investment and GPEP on the acquisition of a retail portfolio with more than 60 properties

Mayer Brown announced today that it represented GPEP GmbH as portfolio manager as well as Universal-Investment on the joint acquisition of various retail properties and retail centers with a gross lettable area of around 108,000 sqm and annual rental income of around seven million Euros for an institutional investor. Seller was an internationally active special servicer. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Houthoff Buruma assisted Alcogroup, Vanden Avenne Commodities and Vandema in the purchase of the bio-ethanol factory of Abengoa Bioenergy Netherlands in Rotterdam, which was declared bankrupt earlier this year due to financial problems of the Spanish parent company Abengoa S.A. The transaction is subject to permission being granted by the relevant competition authorities.

Linklaters support TH Real Estate’s acquisition of Thurrock Shopping Park

Linklaters has advised TH Real Estate in its acquisition of Thurrock Shopping Park in Thurrock, Essex from Hammerson Plc. The property was acquired on behalf of TIAA’s General Account.

The retail park comprises 274,770 sq ft (25,527 sq m) and totals 19 retail units with 1,600 car parking spaces.
