International law firm Clifford Chance advised a consortium of Asian investors for the acquisition of the corporate entity holding the property and hotel business of the Sofitel Le Faubourg hotel located in Paris.

Sofitel Le Faubourg is a 147 room five-star hotel, located rue Boissy d'Anglas in Paris and renovated in 2014-2015. It is managed by the Accor group under a hotel management agreement. The bank-financing of the transaction was provided by BNP Paribas.

We acted as the legal advisor to Lunawood in its acquisition of the thermowood business from Metsä Group. In connection with the business transfer Lunawood and Metsä Group also concluded a multi-year contract for cooperation in thermowood raw material deliveries.

The combined annual turnover of Lunawood and the Metsä Wood thermowood business is expected to be around 40 million euros in 2016, and the company will employ a total of 83 people.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Beijing Capital Land Ltd on the acquisitions of four target companies and related shareholders’ loans from its controlling shareholder, Beijing Capital Group Co., Ltd, and its subsidiaries. The acquisitions involve an aggregate value of US$640 million.

The target companies hold property and primary land development projects in Chongqing, Shenyang and office properties in Beijing.

Eversheds has acted for Nuffield Health, one of the UK’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organisations, on the acquisition of 35 Virgin Active gym sites. The transaction is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2016.

China Three Gorges Corporation (“CTG”) announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire BCP Meerwind Luxembourg S.à.r.l. (subject to certain closing
conditions being satisfied). The company holds an 80% share in the 288MW German offshore windfarm "Meerwind". It is sold by funds under the management of The Blackstone Group L.P. ("Blackstone").

City, national and international law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised on the Meridian Water Development, an ambitious £3.5bn regeneration project bringing 10,000 new homes to North London over the next 20 years. Enfield Council recently appointed Barratt as the developers to deliver the scheme.

Budapest-Dentons advised German asset manager KGAL Group on its acquisition of Eiffel Square, a major office development in central Budapest, from Europa Capital.

Eiffel Square is a 23,500 sq.m. prime office development next to Budapest’s Nyugati Station (designed by Gustav Eiffel), with 18,500 sq.m. of offices, 2,100 sq.m. of retail premises and 1,700 sq.m. of restaurants.
