Eurovia acquires Lane Construction's asphalt production plants and quarries

Dechert LLP advised Eurovia, a VINCI Group subsidiary and global leader in transport infrastructure and urban development, in connection with the purchase of the Plants & Paving division of The Lane Construction Company, a subsidiary of Salini Impregilo Group.

With the acquisition of this division, which represents approximately 2,000 people, with operations in 10 U.S. states on the eastern seaboard and in the state of Texas, and  with annual revenue of more than US$600 million, Eurovia becomes one of the U.S. East Coast’s leaders in transport infrastructure.

MinterEllison acts for SPH REIT and Moelis Australia on its $206m joint venture acquisition of an 100% interest in Figtree Grove Shopping Centre, NSW

MinterEllison has acted for SPH REIT Management Pte. Ltd. in its capacity as the Manager of SPH REIT (SPH REIT) and several entities managed by the asset management division of Moelis Australia Limited (“Moelis Australia Asset Management”) on its joint venture acquisition of an 100% interest in Figtree Grove Shopping Centre in NSW.

Figtree Grove Shopping Centre is an established sub-regional shopping centre in the Illawarra region south of Sydney, NSW, and the acquisition enhances SPH REIT's portfolio through geographical diversification.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Real I.S. on the acquisition of Büroprojekts Airfield Office

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Real I.S., BayernLB's fund service provider specializing in real estate investments, on the acquisition of the Airfield Office project.

The building complex in the Konrad-Zuse-Straße in Böblingen was acquired by way of a forward commitment for its Real I.S. “Regionalfonds Süddeutschland”, a fund for institutional customers. The seller is a joint venture company of Stuttgart-based property developer W2 Development GmbH and investment specialist Competo Capital Partners GmbH in Munich.

Osborne Clarke advises The Entertainer on its first full acquisition in Europe

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised the UK’s largest independent toy retailer, The Entertainer, on its acquisition of the business and assets of Spanish toy retailer, Poly.

Poly was purchased through a competitive bid managed by its administrators and the deal has secured 350 jobs in Spain.

The Osborne Clarke team that advised on the matter was led by Partner Edward Persse in London and Eduard Arruga in Madrid.

Deka Immobilien acquires second logistics centre AMS Cargo Center II

Baker McKenzie Amsterdam advised Deka Immobilien, specialist for real estate investments in the Deka Group, with the acquisition of a second logistics centre on the Schiphol Logistics Park. The AMS Cargo Center II, with a size of ca. 32.000 m2 will be finished in the end of 2019, and holds seven units, including 196 parking spaces and a truck parking area with a capacity of 117 trucks. The property was developed in a Joint Venture, by Built to Build and Proptimize. The acquisition was signed on 8 November 2018.

Godewind Immobilien AG Acquires Additional Office Properties in Hamburg and Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Real Estate Industry team advised Godewind Immobilien AG on the acquisition of two office buildings in Hamburg-Eppendorf and Frankfurt by way of an asset deal. The total transaction volume amounts to €205 million.

The office properties have a total rental area of approx. 74,500 square meters and generate annual rental income of around €9.4 million with a vacancy rate of 21 percent. The transaction is expected be closed by the end of April 2019.

Clifford Chance advises ICG Strategic Equity on portfolio acquisition in conjunction with the MBO of Standard Chartered Bank's Private Equity Unit

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is advising ICG Strategic Equity (ICGSE) on the acquisition by ICGSE's managed funds of a portfolio of private equity investments from Standard Chartered Bank's (SCB) balance sheet, in conjunction with the management buyout of SCB's private equity unit by its senior executives. The spin-out firm will relaunch as Affirma Capital.

Exuma Biotechnology Acquires CAR-T Assets in China

Cooley advised F1 Oncology affiliate Exuma Biotechnology on its acquisition of rights to novel chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy and manufacturing assets in China. Partner James Lu led the Cooley team advising Exuma Biotechnology.

Exuma Biotechnology will develop and commercialize cellular therapies in Greater China to treat solid tumor malignancies. It will also expand its CAR-T cell processing capabilities at a new facility in Shanghai and its viral manufacturing capabilities at a newly constructed facility in Shenzhen.

TLT reunites with Blackfinch and Santander on wind acquisition

TLT has reunited with clean energy investor Blackfinch Investments and Santander to complete the acquisition and project funding for two additional onshore wind turbines.

The turbines – each with a 500kW generation capacity and located near Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire – were acquired through Blackfinch’s renewable energy investment entity, Sedgwick Trading.

McCann FitzGerald advises Greencoat Renewables in €88m Deal for Two Windfarms

We advised Greencoat Renewables on its acquisition of two wind farms from Blackrock in a transaction valued at €88 million.

Greencoat has grown its portfolio almost three-fold over the past 12 months. Other transactions we have advised on this year include the acquisition of a 48.3MW wind farm in Co.Cork in October for €61.3 million, the acquisition of Knaocknalour wind farm in September for €10.9m, the acquisition of Lisdowney in February, the acquisition of Dromadda More in April and on its €11m share placing in August.
