Blackstone To Acquire Retirement Village Portfolio in New Zealand

Simpson Thacher is representing Blackstone Tactical Opportunities in connection with the announced acquisition of a retirement village portfolio in New Zealand from Lendlease, a leading international property and infrastructure group. The portfolio comprises five fully completed villages, four in Auckland (the Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Parklane and Peninsula Club) and one in Mt. Maunganui (Ocean Shores). The transaction, which is expected to close in the next several months, is subject to relevant regulatory approvals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Hemsö aquires elderly care home in Södertälje

Hemsö has aquired an elderly care home in Södertälje. The value of the home, which is under construction, is estimated to amount to SEK 145 million when it has been constructed. The tenant is Attendo, who has signed a lease for 15 years.

Hemsö is Sweden’s leading private owner of properties for public use with more than 300 properties in Sweden, Finland and Germany. AP3, The Third Swedish National Pension Fund, owns 70 percent of Hemsö, while the remaining 30 percent is owned by Hemsö Intressenter AB.

Schoenherr advises Amundi Real Estate on the purchase of office buildings "Florido Tower" and "Solaris" in Vienna

Schoenherr advised French Amundi Real Estate on the purchase of the office buildings "Florido Tower" and "Solaris" in Vienna. They were sold by German based Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, and are part of the 1 billion Euro "Aqua" portfolio, comprising 17 office buildings with a total lettable area of 278.000 m² in six Western European countries. With the purchase of the office buildings in Vienna, the deal is said to be one of last year`s largest portfolio transactions, and is now completed.

AkzoNobel acquires BASF’s Industrial Coatings business

De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek advises AkzoNobel on its intended acquisition of BASF’s Industrial Coatings business for EUR 475 million.

The transaction would include technologies, patents and trademarks, as well as securing supply to customers worldwide. Two manufacturing plants – one in the UK and one in South Africa – would also be transferred to AkzoNobel.

De Brauw is acting as lead counsel to AkzoNobel and Dieter Wolff is lead partner.

DLA Piper advises Market Tech on strategic King's Cross development purchase

DLA Piper has advised Market Tech Holdings on its acquisition of 101 Camley Street, which is located in the London Borough of Camden adjacent to the rapidly changing King’s Cross Central redevelopment area, for a total cash consideration of circa £36.7 million. Market Tech Holdings owns 15 acres of iconic London real estate assets, including the main Camden Markets, with digital capabilities to deliver commercial, residential, living leisure and retail space.

Hogan Lovells and Schoenherr advise Ingram Micro on the acquisition of the CEE business of the Value-Added Distributors RRC Group

Hogan Lovells and Schoenherr advised U.S.-based Ingram Micro on its acquisition of the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) division of Russia-based Value Added Distributors RRC Group (RRC) division. The closing of the transaction – which is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities - is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2016. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
