Jorcks acquires investment property in Strøget

Jorcks Ejendomsselskab has acquired the property Frederiksberggade 19 in central Copenhagen. The property, which is let out to Havanna Shoes, was acquired from Casa A/S. Plesner assisted Jorcks Ejendomsselskab with the transaction.

The acquisition of the property, which was constructed in 1907 and which has a total area of 615 sqm, is a part of Jorcks Ejendomsselskab's future remodelling and improvement of the adjoining property Frederiksberggade 21 which is let by Lagkagehuset, among others.

Clifford Chance advises Heitman on the acquisition of a real estate portfolio from Grainger

Clifford Chance advised two special-purpose vehicles - acting for a residential properties fund recently launched by global real estate investment manager Heitman - on the acquisition of a real estate portfolio from British property manager Grainger and on the launch of the fund with a target equity capital volume of ap-proximately EUR 250 million.

The real estate portfolio was acquired by way of a share deal. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Debevoise Advises HarbourVest in the Acquisition of Interests in Bridgepoint Europe III

The London office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised HarbourVest Partners in the acquisition through funds managed by Compass Partners International of certain interests in Bridgepoint Europe III.

The total equity commitment of the acquisition is in excess of €360 million, with an aggregate enterprise value in excess of €2 billion. Core assets include Infinitas Learning, Rodenstock and CTL. Compass Partners has made its investment in funds that will continue to be managed and advised by Bridgepoint.

Norton Rose Fulbright acts for AEP Investment Management in innovative Shariah compliant deal

An Asia-Pacific team from Norton Rose Fulbright advised Singapore-based AEP Investment Management (AEPiM) on its acquisition of 41 George Street, in the Brisbane CBD, from two QIC funds. The 27 storey tower was sold for $159.8 million to Basil Property Trust, a Shariah-compliant, cross-border business space fund managed by AEPiM.

The real estate asset was keenly contested, given it was almost wholly leased to the State of Queensland and is situated in a precinct which, with recent and future developments, is emerging as a new hub for entertainment, government and education.

Eubelius assists bpost with the acquisition of the activities of Lagardère Travel Retail in Belgium

bpost has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of the Belgian activities of Lagardère Travel Retail. In Belgium, Lagardère Travel Retail sells newspapers, magazines and other convenience products, among others in train stations and airports, directly operating a network of 220 points of sale, with brands such as Press Shop and Relay. Lagardère Travel Retail also organizes the daily distribution and return of newspapers and magazines to some 5,345 points of sale.

Irwin Mitchell Advises Coaching Inn Group On Latest Acquisition

The Coaching Inn Group has announced the acquisition of The Kings Head Hotel in Richmond along with a commitment to invest £1m across its accommodation, food and beverage offering.

The deal to buy the 26-bed hotel represents the 10th to be added to the company’s national portfolio and marks its first acquisition this year.

The hotel first opened its doors in 1717 when it was built as a gentleman's townhouse. It was previously owned by Ashdale Hotels and following the deal it will continue to be run by the existing management team.

Simmons & Simmons has advised the Tod's Group on the acquisition of the luxury footwear brand Roger Vivier and the entire share capital of the French company, which owns the historical Roger Vivier flagship store on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris.
Tod’s Group is an international fashion group with a well-recognized portfolio of brands including Tod's, Hogan and Fay, and is listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.

DWF advises Moda Living on £128m Manchester based Angel Gardens scheme

DWF has advised Moda Living on their acquisition, with Apache Capital, of the Angel Gardens scheme, part of the NOMA regeneration project, near Victoria Station, Manchester.

This major residential deal will provide a 34-storey property, totalling 520,000 square feet and comprising 458 apartments for rent.  It will have a seven-storey glazed foyer, a cinema room, gym, four restaurants, retail units, digital integration and a multi-functional roof terrace.

Houthoff Buruma advises Cicerone Fund on the acquisition of Waterstones Landmark Bookstore on Picadilly

Advised Cicerone Fund on the acquisition of the long-term leasehold of the Waterstones flagship store located in Piccadilly, London for £92 million from Meyer Bergman. The transaction has been undertaken by Cicerone Holding BV, which is the fully-owned Dutch subsidiary of the fund.
