Loyens & Loeff advised Standard Life Investments on the acquisition of the new head office of Bluewater Energy Services, located at Park 20/20 in Hoofddorp (the Netherlands), for a total consideration of EUR 30.5 million.

Park 20/20 is the first full-service Cradle-to-Cradle working environment in the Netherlands, offering a sustainable, inspiring and more healthy working environment. Thanks to the Cradle-to-Cradle principle, Park 20/20 was awarded BREEAM’s “excellent” certificate for new construction.

Hemsö acquires nursing home in Germany

Hemsö has acquired an elderly care home in Aachen, Germany, for SEK 100 million. Hemsö has entered into a long term lease with the home’s operator CMS Dienstleistungen GmbH.

Hemsö is a property company that owns, manages and develops buildings for community services in Sweden and Germany. Hemsö’s property portfolio in Germany, managed from the company’s office in Berlin, comprises 23 elderly care homes. The Hemsö group is owned by The Third Swedish National Pension Fund (85%) and Sagax (15%).

Dentons advises KanAm on the acquisition of complex “Am Zirkus 1” in Berlin-Mitte

Germany - Dentons advised a special fund of an Asian investor issued by investment company KanAm on the acquisition of a real estate complex in Berlin-Mitte. The complex “Am Zirkus 1” includes a hotel as well as residential and commercial real estate. The acquisition comprises offices as well as  the hotel with a total of 16,500 square meters, of which the hotel accounts for 11,400 square meters. Sellers are project developer and investor Peach Property Group AG as well as DIAG Deutsche Immobilien AG. The parties agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.

Irwin Mitchell Advises On Market Gate Shopping Centre In Lancaster

 Irwin Mitchell's banking & finance, corporate and real estate teams have advised Elston Holdings Ltd on its acquisition of Market Gate Shopping Centre, Lancaster from a private owner for approximately £22m.
 
Elston Holdings Ltd is owned by AREO S.a r.l. (which is advised by Chenavari Investment Managers) and Roubaix Group (the specialist property investment business recently founded by Chris Beckerman).  The deal was completed via a corporate purchase in an off market transaction and represents the first joint venture between Chenavari and Roubaix.
 

Appold Broadgate Owner S.a r.l. - acquisition of Bavaria House, London EC2

Slaughter and May advised Appold Broadgate Owner S.a r.l. on its acquisition of Bavaria House, London EC2, from Bayerische Landesbank. The transaction involved the grant of a one-year leaseback of the building to the vendor. Bavaria House, which measures 43,000 sq ft and occupies an island site on the edge of the Broadgate Estate, is considered to have potential for redevelopment into a mixed use tower scheme.

Wikborg Rein assisted Madison regarding purchase of 59.5 % interest in the Statoil Oslo office

Wikborg Rein has assisted Madison International Realty in the purchase of 59.5 % of the shares in Martin Linges vei 33 AS (ML 33). ML 33 owns indirectly the Statoil office on Fornebu that is let out to Statoil ASA on a 15 years lease.

Madison purchased 35 % of the shares in ML 33 in 2012-2013, and the new acquisition brings Madison's ownership above 90 % of the shares.

Eversheds advises Leeds University on £62.3m student accommodation deal

Law firm Eversheds has advised the University of Leeds on its £62.3m acquisition of Phases 1 and 2 Central Village, Calverley Street, Leeds which completed in September 2014.

Phases 1 and 2 comprise 980 high quality student rooms arranged in flats of 5 and 6 units, together with a small ratio of studios. The scheme is arranged in 4 properties and includes a new convenience store let to Tesco. The properties have recently been developed by Downing and are located close to Leeds city centre, adjoining the University’s main teaching campus.
