Sale of Real Estate Portfolio to Sirius

Castres & Snellman assisted Avora Property, a company owned by a fund of Partners Group (listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange) and managed by Nordic real estate investor Niam, in the sale of a real estate portfolio consisting of five retail properties to Sirius Fund I Grocery. The properties are located in Jyväskylä, Raasepori, Savonlinna, Siilinjärvi and Ylivieska, Finland.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Barrick Gold Corporation on the sale of gold assets in Australia and Papua New Guinea for $A1.2 billion

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Barrick Gold Corporation on the sale of its Cowal gold mine in New South Wales to Evolution Mining Limited, and on the sale of a 50% interest in Barrick (Niugini) Limited, which is the 95% owner and manager of the Porgera Joint Venture gold mine in Papua New Guinea, to Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd for a combined total consideration of approximately A$1.2 billion.

Clifford Chance advises GE on the sale of the majority part of its German real estate assets and real estate secured loans to Kildare Partners

An integrated team from almost all practice areas of international law firm Clifford Chance advised GE Capital on the sale of the majority part of its German real estate assets and real estate secured loans to Kildare Partners, a British private equity company.

This sale is in line with General Electric’s strategy to reduce the size of GE Capital, its financial unit, to focus on its industrial operations.

Setterwalls has assisted Arise in the sale of the wind farm Skogaby to Allianz Global Investors

Arise AB has sold the wind farm Skogaby, located in the south of Sweden within the
municipality of Laholm, to a fund managed by Allianz Global Investors. The wind farm has a total effect of 7,2 MW.
As part of the transaction
Arise will operate the wind park
on behalf of Allianz Global Investors for a period of five years.

Arise, which is listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm, an energy company selling electricity produced in their own and co-owned wind farms together with selling and operating wind projects.

Gide, counsel to MSD France on the sale of its La Vallée (Haute-Loire) chemical site to Fareva

Gide has advised pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) France (subsidiary of US group Merck & Co.) on the sale of its chemical production site in La Vallée (Loire region) to group Fareva, a subcontracting world leader in the industrial, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals sectors. The La Vallée site employs some 130 specialist staff in the production of active substances.

Established in 140 countries with 70,000 employees worldwide, MSD is one of the leading world players in the pharmaceuticals sector.

Houthoff Buruma advised IVG Institutional Funds GmbH

Houthoff Buruma advised IVG Institutional Funds GmbH on the Dutch part of the sale of one of its Pan European office portfolios to a fund managed by Ares Management. The portfolio consists of 30+ buildings in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Finland, Spain and the Netherlands. The Dutch part of the portfolio consists of 18 office buildings and represents a substantial of the portfolio value. The transfer of the buildings is expected to take place in the third or fourth quarter of 2015.

Renor Sold Production and Office Premises to Sagax

Castren & Snellman assisted Renor Oy in the sale of production and office premises to Sagax, a Swedish listed real estate investment company. The property is located in the Aviapolis area in Vantaa, along the Ring Road III. The leasable area of the building is approximately 12,000 square meters and it has been fully leased to a long-term tenant.

The Castrén & Snellman team was led by counsel Rami Laatsalo, who was assisted by associate Arimo Leppä. The responsible partner for the assignment was Mika Ilveskero.
