Ashurst advises in A$397m offer

Ashurst has advised Macquarie Capital (Australia) Limited (MCAL) and UBS AG, Australia Branch (UBS) in a fully underwritten offer to raise approximately A$397 million by the DUET Group.

DUET, an ASX-listed owner of energy utility assets in Australia, announced an accelerated non-renounceable pro-rata entitlement offer (Entitlement Offer) of 1 new stapled security for every 8 existing stapled securities (New Stapled Securities) at an offer price of $2.39 per New Stapled Security, to raise approximately $397 million.

Clifford Chance advising Cinven and Carlyle on sale of 7.5 million shares in Altice

International law firm Clifford Chance is advising leading private equity firms Cinven and Carlyle on an accelerated book build to sell 7.5 million shares in European cable and telecoms company Altice.

Cinven and Carlyle acquired their stake in Altice earlier this year as part of the transaction under which they sold French domestic broadband provider Numericable to Altice. The combined value of the stake in Altice is approximately EUR337.5 million.

DWF advises on Collagen Solution’s acquisition of Southern Lights Biomaterials

DWF has advised Zeus Capital in relation to Collagen Solution’s acquisition of New Zealand-based Southern Lights Biomaterials and its £6million share placing. Zeus Capital acted as the nominated adviser and broker on the deal.

The £6million acquisition constitutes a reverse takeover and the net proceeds of the placing will partially fund the initial £2.5million cash element of the consideration and provide working capital.

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co completes secondary fundraising for Empiric Student Property

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co has advised real estate investment trust Empiric Student Property on a £65.6 million secondary fundraising.

The funds were raised through the placing and offer for subscription of shares at 101 pence each. The new shares will be listed today (Monday, 24 November).

Investment funds specialist, partner John Reed led the Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co team, with assistance from corporate solicitor Emily Troubridge.

ANTA Sports is a leading professional sportswear company in China. It is involved in designing, manufacturing and retailing sportswear across China. ANTA Sports was established in 1994 and was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2007.

Herbert Smith Freehills Paris advises Arkema on the launch of its €350m share capital increase

Herbert Smith Freehills Paris has recently Arkema, France's leading chemicals producer, on the launch of its share capital increase with preferential subscription rights of shareholders for an amount of around €350 million.

The rights issue, which did not involve a waiver of preferential subscription rights, is aimed at financing part of the cost of acquiring the Bostik group, formerly of Total's specialty chemicals branch, as announced by Arkema on 19 September 2014.
