Dentons advises Lietuvos Energija on its second international green corporate bond

London--Dentons is pleased to have advised Lietuvos Energija, UAB, the energy company that is 100 per cent owned by the government of Lithuania, on its second Reg S EU300 million green bond issue. The deal was given the highest green designation by the Center for International Climate Research (Cicero), which gave the external opinion on the deal's green credentials. The bonds were issued under Lietuvos Energija's EU1.5 billion Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) Programme. Dentons also advised Lietuvos Energija on the establishment of the EMTN Programme and on its debut green bond issue.

White & Case Advises Lenders on Refinancing of New South Wales Wind Farm

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised MUFG and a syndicate of five lenders on the AUD$210 million refinancing of the Boco Rock Wind Farm, a subsidiary of Electricity Generation plc (EGCO), in New South Wales, Australia.

The financing was underwritten by MUFG and syndicated to Commonwealth Bank of Australia, ICBC, ING, Societe Generale and National Australia Bank.

White & Case Advises Atlas Renewables on an Innovative B-Bond Financing in Uruguay: Combining agency financing and a private placement

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Atlas Renewable Energy ("Atlas"), a renewable energy company operating in Latin America, on its US$114.4 million, long-term financing for two solar power projects in Uruguay. The two projects use 238,720 solar panel modules with an installed capacity of 75.8MWp. Atlas estimates the plants will remove 55,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually and power close to 50,000 homes.

Renewable energy: Clifford Chance advises Banco Santander and CaixaBank on Uruguay wind farm financing

International law firm Clifford Chance has advised Banco Santander S.A. and CaixaBank S.A. as Mandated Lead Arrangers on the financing of the wind farm project Cerro Grande in Uruguay. The wind farm is being developed by Germany-based wind turbines manufacturer ENERCON GmbH.

Linklaters advises on the largest ever green bond listing on the London Stock Exchange

Linklaters has advised the London branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) on its recent USD$1.58bn issuance of green bonds. The bonds are listed on the International Securities Market (ISM) and green segment of the London Stock Exchange, making it the largest green bond listing ever on the London Stock Exchange. ICBC London Branch is also the first Chinese issuer on the ISM.
 

Milbank Advises on the US$1B K-sure Backed Trade Loan for Reliance Jio Infocomm Telecoms Project in India

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP is advising the lead arrangers and facility agent, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation ("K-sure") and the participating commercial banks with respect to a multi-billion dollar telecom project run by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. to expand India's wireless network.

K-sure has offered a $1 billion trade loan for Reliance Infocomm's project following a $750 million credit facility in 2015. This is due to be the largest Indian loan covered by K-sure, and K-sure's largest global telecom financing.

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Malaysian independent power producer Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) on the AUD$500 million refinancing of its 50 percent interest in the 420MW Macarthur Wind Farm in Victoria, Australia, with a lender group comprising BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Mizuho, Black Rock, OCBC and ING.

Clifford Chance advises Blauwwind offshore wind farm as it reaches financial close

On 28 June 2018 the financial close of the Blauwwind offshore wind farm took place. This offshore wind farm will be constructed and will operate within the Borssele Wind Farm Zone, the Netherlands. The farm will include 77 V164 9.5 megawatt (MW) turbines produced by MHI Vestas, with a total installed capacity of 731.5MW, enough to power some 825,000 households. The main construction work is due to start in the fourth quarter of 2019, with commercial production expected in early 2021.
