Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP represented PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap (SERD) in connection with the development and financing of a geothermal facility in the Rantau Dedap geothermal working area in south Sumatra, Indonesia, with a gross capacity of 98.4 MW. SERD is a joint venture owned by French utility company ENGIE, Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and Indonesian geothermal energy producer PT Supreme Energy.

Clifford Chance advises Encavis on the acquisition of a 44 MW solar park in the Netherlands including the project financing

Clifford Chance Amsterdam has advised Encavis AG (formerly Capital Stage AG) on the acquisition of a construction-ready solar park with a total output of 43.9 megawatts (MW) in the Netherlands from Solarcentury by Encavis. The park is located near the city of Eindhoven. The solar park has taken out a debt financing from Rabobank to finance construction. Clifford Chance Amsterdam also acted as counsel to the Borrower jointly owned by SolarCentury and Encavis.

WFW advises BTMU on US$180m refinancing of two K-Line LNG vessels

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (“BTMU”), Japan’s largest bank, as facility agent for a syndicate of international lenders comprising itself, Development Bank of Japan Inc. and Societe Generale on the US$180m refinancing of two K-Line LNG vessels, “Arctic Voyager” and “Arctic Discoverer” which are time chartered to Statoil ASA, the world’s largest offshore operator.

Dentons has advised Tenaga Nasional Berhad ("TNB"), one of the largest utility players in Asia, on the refinancing of the UK-based wind portfolio acquired by TNB's wholly owned subsidiary, Tenaga Wind Ventures UK Ltd, on 28 February 2018. The refinancing represents the first-ever overseas non-recourse project financing that TNB has undertaken.

DLA Piper has advised Goldman Sachs in relation to a bridging loan to Feyenoord Rotterdam to assist with the development of its new 63,000 seat football stadium.

The DLA Piper team was led by London-based Finance and Projects partner Paul Gray, together with associate Lewis Gaut and senior associate Tim Nolan. They were supported by the Finance and Projects team in Amsterdam led by partners Lex Oosterling and Gerard Kneppers, together with associates Benno Leemans and Sven van der Meer.

Linklaters advises on financing for 300-Megawatt Spalding Energy Expansion Project in UK

InterGen announced today the financial close of credit facilities for its 300-megawatt natural gas-fired Spalding Energy Expansion project in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England. Linklaters advised Santander and Nord LB for the limited recourse financing for the project.

The £100 million project has a 15-year capacity agreement following a successful bid in the Government’’s December 2016 capacity auction. The project is the first and, to date, only large scale, thermal project to secure limited recourse financing based on the 15-year capacity agreement.

Clifford Chance advises on US$1 billion Nam Theun 1 Power Project in Laos

Clifford Chance has collaborated with Thai law firm Chandler MHM to advise Bangkok Bank PCL, Export-Import Bank of Thailand, The Siam Commercial Bank PCL, and TISCO Bank PCL, on the financing of the US$1 billion Nam Theun 1 hydroelectric power project on the Nam Kading river in Laos. The key project sponsors were the Phonesack Group. Co. Ltd. and Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO).

Willkie recently advised EIB on its €20 million financing of MedinCell. The financing will enable MedinCell to develop innovative injectable controlled-acting and prolonged treatments in order to replace daily medication with subcutaneous or localized injections and improve the quality of life of patients.

Located in Stawell, regional Victoria, the BGPH will comprise a 194 MW wind farm with Siemens-Gamesa wind turbines, combined with a 20 MW / 34 MWh lithium-ion battery provided by Tesla.
