Clifford Chance advises on financing of Korean Air Lines' first Boeing Dreamliner

Clifford Chance has advised DVB Bank SE, Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale and BNP Paribas on the financing of Korean Air Lines' first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The transaction was led by Bangkok Office Managing Partner Fergus Evans, supported by senior associate Daniel Konig, associate Nattawat Vilasdechanon and paralegal Pauline Debrand in Bangkok. Partner Emily DiStefano, associate Olga Miller and Transactional Paralegal Specialist Jill Ruderfer acted as New York counsel.

DLA Piper advises Equitix on multiple solar acquisitions and financings

DLA Piper has advised infrastructure specialist investor and fund manager, Equitix, on a series of four separate acquisitions of solar assets and three project financings.

The first acquisition, which completed on 21 December 2016, saw Equitix acquire six operating ground mounted solar installations from Primrose Solar with a combined capacity of 80 MW; the second was of a ground-mounted operating solar project, Cowdown project near Andover, with a capacity of 40MW completing on 13 January 2017.

King & Wood Mallesons advises ING Bank on ground-breaking PRC aircraft financing transaction

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) acted for ING Bank on its ground-breaking transaction with a PRC state-owned-enterprise lessor on the refinancing of the lessor’s acquisition and leasing of a wide body aircraft to an Indonesian airline.

This cross-border transaction required English law, PRC law and New York law expertise which KWM was able to provide as a one-stop-shop service to ING.

Neoen Financially Closes Hornsdale Wind Farm

Baker McKenzie has advised Neoen, a leading French renewable energy company, on the financial close of the final stage of the Hornsdale Wind Farm in South Australia, one of the most competitive renewable energy projects in Australia.

Siemens will supply and erect 99 wind turbines alongside South Australian firms Catcon and CPP, with the local economy to benefit from a global investment of more than $870m for the 3 stages of the Hornsdale project.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises CEFC China on US$888 million investment in Abu Dhabi oil joint venture

Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised CEFC China Energy Company Limited on its investment in Abu Dhabi's largest oil concession.

CEFC China will take a 4 per cent stake in oil-production joint venture Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations (ADCO), which produces around half of Abu Dhabi's daily crude output.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company awarded the stake to CEFC China in the agreement signed on 20 February 2017.

Clifford Chance advises KEPCO on pioneering Fujeij wind project in Jordan

Clifford Chance has advised Korea Electric Power Company (KEPCO) on the development and financing of an 89.1MW wind power plant in the Fujeij area in Jordan.

It is one of the largest renewable energy projects in Jordan, and will contribute to boosting the country's reliance on domestic energy sources. The total construction cost of the project is estimated at US$184 million and the plant is scheduled to start operating at the end of 2018.
