Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Conergy on the development and project financing of Australia’s first solar and battery storage project.

The Lakeland solar PV project is located at the fringe of Ergon’s grid in Northern Queensland. It will have an installed capacity of 10.8MW combined with a 5.3MWh battery storage system.  The project will receive both a funding grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and debt financing from NordLB.

King & Wood Mallesons has advised the naturally fast-food chain LEON on its £19 million corporate financing, secured from challenger bank OakNorth Bank Limited (OakNorth). The transaction refinances a previous financing where KWM also acted for LEON.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Coriolis on its equity investment in the offshore wind farm project Merkur. Coriolis is a joint investment vehicle formed by French state-controlled ADEME for their equity investment in Merkur and the capital investment arm of the turbine supplier.

GE will supply the wind turbines for Merkur, which will be the first large-scale commercial deployment of GE state-of-the-art Haliade 150-6MW offshore wind turbine in Europe.

Hogan Lovells has advised Merkur Offshore GmbH on the project financing of the planned offshore wind farm Merkur. The financing volume amounts to approx. 1.6 billion euro including an equity share of nearly 500 million euro.

Clifford Chance advised Gunvor Petroleum Rotterdam B.V. on the financing of a comprehensive upgrade of its Gunvor Petroleum Rotterdam refinery.

The financing of the Merkur offshore wind farm that is to be constructed in the German North Sea, 45 km north of Borkum, is now secured. Allen & Overy LLP advised DEME on this transaction.

PKA, one of the largest pension funds in Denmark, has announced the acquisition of 50% of the North-East England located biomass power plant “Teeside Renewable  Energy Plant” along with Macquarie Group, a global provider of banking, financial, advisory, investment and funds management services, who will hold the other 50%.

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) has advised German bank, HSH Nordbank AG in connection with the financing of the 12.5 MW capacity Mont d’Erny windfarm by means of a €29.6 million loan. The project was developed by Nordex and sponsored through an investment fund managed by Rive Private Investment (group 123Venture & Elyseum Investment).

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised a syndicate of French banks comprising Bpifrance Financement (as lender, security agent and co-arranger), Natixis Energéco (as lender, agent and co-arranger) and Banque Palatine (as lender, hedge bank and account bank) on the €58meuro refinancing of a portfolio of 14 ground and roof-based solar plants.

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has acted as New York counsel to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the approximately $465 million multi-source and multi-currency financing of the Perimetral Oriental de Cundinamarca toll road that closed on May 24, 2016. The project is part of Colombia's multi-billion dollar 4G program.
