Our Energy, Utilities & Projects team acted for Irish renewable energy company Gaelectric on the project financing Ballybay and Foyle wind farms, by AIB plc, for a total of €38m.

Ballybay Wind Farm and ­Foyle Wind Farm in Co Kilkenny are both due to become operational during the second half of next year with substantial works completed on both projects in advance of financial close. The two wind farms will supply enough energy to power approximately 12,200 homes.

Linklaters advises on debt financing for MGT’s Tees Renewable Energy Plant

Linklaters has advised the lenders on the multi-source financing of the world’s largest new-build biomass power plant.

The project also represents the first dedicated biomass plant to have successfully been financed under the contract for difference (CfD) regime. Earlier this year, Linklaters advised on the project financing of the CfD supported Dudgeon and Beatrice offshore wind farms, the latter of which represents the largest CfD supported project to have reached financial close to date.

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (“CACIB”), SACE S.p.A. (“SACE”) and a syndicate of banks on the delivery of the cruise ship “Seven Seas Explorer” built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri S.p.A. “Seven Seas Explorer” was delivered to Explorer New Build LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Corporation Ltd, on 30th June 2016 and will sail as part of the Regent Seven Seas fleet.

Allen & Overy LLP advises Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale on the refinancing of the Finsterwalde II and III solar parks

Allen & Overy LLP has advised Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale on the refinancing of the Finsterwalde II and III solar parks. The solar parks have a total capacity of around 40 MWp and thus rank among the largest solar parks in Germany. The sponsors are DIF Infrastructure II (DIF) and NIBC European Infrastructure Fund (NEIF), operating as a joint venture.

The favourable refinancing conditions currently available offered an attractive refinancing environment, enabling existing credit lines, which were fixed via a long-term KfW refinancing loan, to be repaid early.

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has acted as New York counsel to senior lenders Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, The Korea Development Bank, Banco de Crédito del Perú, Instituto de Crédito Oficial, Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional S.A., Banco Davivienda S.A. and Bancolombia S.A. in connection with the approximately US$445 million multi-source and multi-currency financing of the Conexión Norte 4G toll road in Colombia that closed on July 28, 2016.

Dentons advises Cornerstone on the acquisition and financing of the Altes Klöpperhaus office building in Hamburg

Global law firm Dentons advised Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors GmbH on the acquisition of AIRE Klöpperhaus Verwaltungs GmbH – the entity which owns the Altes Klöpperhaus building - from Art-Invest Real Estate Group. The financing was provided by ING-DiBa. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Ashurst advises pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank on financing the acquisition of a commercial real estate portfolio by Catalyst

Ashurst advised pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank (pbb) on financing the acquisition of a commercial real estate portfolio by investment and asset management firm, Catalyst. The purchase price amounts to around €200 million, the financing to €120 million.

The portfolio comprises ten commercial properties located, amongst others, in Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich with a size of more than 93,000 square metres in total. The sellers are TRIUVA Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH and a large German public sector pension scheme.

WFW advises Acofi Gestion on the refinancing of portfolio of 154 solar installations

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW “) has advised Acofi Gestion, an asset management company, in respect of the refinancing, by its fund Predirec EnR 2030, of a portfolio of 154 solar installations located across the South of France, which had been developed by Fonroche Investissements and together have a combined output capacity of 82 MW.

(ICTSI).
