Linklaters Japan advises on significant renewable energy deal

Linklaters has successfully advised on the project financing of a ¥12.1 billion renewable energy deal in Japan.

Linklaters acted for ING Bank as the Underwriter, Bookrunner, Mandated Lead Arranger, Facility and Security Agent, Account Bank and Swap Bank in relation to Nippon Solar Services’ construction of a utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plant with a generation capacity of 33 megawatts located in the Oita Prefecture in Kyushu.

DLA Piper advises Doctena as it pursues growth across Europe

DLA Piper has advised digital healthcare start-up, Doctena, on the structuring and legal arrangements of its latest €4.5 m financing round, enabling the company to accelerate its European expansion.

Doctena.lu website and the Doctena iPhone app form part of Luxembourg's first ever online booking system for patients in search of a doctor. Since its launch in September 2013, thousands of appointments have been organised. The app offers patients access to over 15% of active doctors in Luxembourg, representing close to 40 different specialities and 25 different languages.

Ashurst advises banks on financing the acquisition of kfzteile24 by EQT Mid Market

Ashurst advised DZ Bank AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank, Frankfurt am Main, NIBC Bank N.V., SEB AG and Berliner Volksbank eG on financing the acquisition of Berliner kfzteile24 GmbH (kfzteile 24) by EQT Mid Market Limited Partnership (EQT Mid Market), a part of the EQT private equity group. The sellers are the founders of the company, Matthias Kieper and Torsten Hainke. Both remain significant shareholders of kfzteile24 and continue their functions as co-CEOs.

Watson Farley & Williams advised Banco Popolare in Alessandria Calore financing

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) has advised Banco Popolare Soc. Coop. in relation to the financing of Alessandria Calore S.r.l., a joint venture between Ente Gestione Energia e Ambiente S.p.A. and Compagnia Italiana Energia S.p.A., a Gruppo Gavio’s company. The funds will finance the construction and operation of a thermal power plant fuelled by natural gas.

Renewables experts advise on $A200 million debt financing package for Victorian wind farm

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Ararat Wind Farm Pty Ltd and related entities on the debt financing for the Ararat Wind Farm in Ararat, Victoria.

Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Export Development Canada and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation participated as lenders in the debt financing, which consists of a $200 million debt financing package along with an additional $76 million in bank guarantees.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises on US$540 million structured financing of two LNG FSRUs for Golar LNG

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised China Merchants Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd on a US$540 million structured sale and leaseback financing involving the two LNG floating storage regasification vessels “GOLAR ESKIMO” and m.v. “GOLAR TUNDRA”.

The financing involved two subsidiaries of Golar LNG, a leading liquefied natural gas shipping company based in London and registered in Bermuda.

The financing documents were signed on 4 November 2015 and on 19 November 2015 respectively. Both transactions closed simultaneously on 25 November 2015.

Ashurst advises financial institutions on the refinancing of Etrion's Italian solar portfolio

Ashurst has advised the three mandated lead arrangers Natixis, BNP Paribas CIB and Credito Valtellinese as well as the French infrastructure debt fund SCOR Infrastructure Loans II in relation to the € 222 million project bond and project finance refinancing of Etrion Corporation's 53.5 MW Italian solar portfolio.

This deal is the second project bond in Italy in the renewables sector after Antin Solar closed in November 2014, also arranged by Natixis and advised by Ashurst.
