Osborne Clarke advised Aareal Bank in loan to the CER-L fund, managed by Carlyle Real Estate SGR S.p.A.

Osborne Clarke advised Aareal Bank AG, Rome branch, acting as lender, arranger and agent, in a Euro 53 million loan  granted to the “CER-L” alternative closed-end real estate investment fund, which acted through the management company Carlyle Real Estate SGR S.p.A., which was in turn advised by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

The loan was granted to finance the acquisition and/or development of a real estate portfolio composed of 5 logistic properties located in the North of Italy.

DLA Piper advises Aareal bank on €447m financing for pan-European hotel portfolio

DLA Piper has advised Aareal Bank AG in relation to the arrangement of a five-year €447 million financing for a European hotel portfolio managed by Swedish hotel property company Pandox AB.

The portfolio comprises a total of 14 high-quality hotels in the upper full-service segment, in first-class locations in Austria, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands, with a total of approximately 3,600 rooms – including the Crowne Plaza Brussels – Le Palace, the Radisson Blu in Cologne, and the Park Hotel Amsterdam.

Macfarlanes advises a private HNW investor on a £25m refinancing for two Sainsbury’s supermarkets

Macfarlanes has advised a high-net-worth investor on a £25m refinancing facility in respect of two large Sainsbury’s supermarkets in Hinckley and Middlesbrough.

Funding was secured from Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG for a new five year investment loan which was drawn in October 2018.

Macfarlanes also acted on the original acquisition and development facility for the two properties in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Dentons advises BGZ BNP Paribas on refinancing of three properties in Warsaw

Dentons' Banking and Finance team in Warsaw has advised BGZ BNP Paribas on a EU17 million financing granted to three Yareal Group companies to refinance the purchase costs of three properties in Warsaw intended for the construction of residential buildings with total area of approximately 110,000 sq.m.

The scope of Dentons' legal advice included the due diligence of property documents, borrower companies and projects, as well as the preparation of three credit documentation packages.

WFW advises on Tages Helios’ Italian solar portfolio project financing by BPER Banca

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Tages Helios and Delos Power Group on the corporate reorganisation and refinancing of a solar portfolio owned by Sicilia Solare S.r.l., an SPV of Delos Power S.r.l. The solar plants are located in Sicily (Italy).

The financing was provided by BPER Banca S.p.A. a commercial bank, which is the parent entity of the BPER Group, one of Italy’s leading banking groups.

Clifford Chance Advises Greystone on First-Time Healthcare CRE CLO Transaction

International law firm Clifford Chance advised Greystone & Co. and related entities in the establishment of a US$300 million CRE CLO transaction by a Greystone-managed fund and Greystone affiliates. The transaction, which closed on September 21, 2018, is the first-ever CRE CLO backed exclusively by commercial real estate ("CRE") bridge loans backed by first lien mortgages on healthcare facilities, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and senior living facilities.

Ashurst advises on approximately €1 billion financing of RTR solar portfolio in Italy

International law firm Ashurst advised a consortium of lenders (Banca IMI, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, ING, BBVA, Société Générale, BNP Paribas, UBI, Banco BPM and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti) on a €995 million financing  for the acquisition of the solar portfolio of RTR in Italy (about 333 MW), owned by the Terra Firma group by F2i. The subsequent refinancing of the existing debt, all within the same financing transaction, was characterised by a particularly innovative structure.

Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has advised Minsheng Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (Minsheng Financial Leasing) in relation to the refinancing of a portfolio of 10,000 marine containers, through a Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (JOLCO) with head lease and sub-lease structure.

Greenberg Traurig advises Schroders on the acquisition and financing of Pollux office tower in Frankfurt for approximately EUR 230 million

Greenberg Traurig advised a joint venture managed by Schroders on the acquisition and financing of the Pollux office tower in Frankfurt am Main. The Finnish pension fund Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company and another international institutional investor form the joint venture. The purchase price amounts to approximately EUR 230 million.

The 32-story office tower comprises approximately 35,000 square meters of rental space and is currently 95 percent let. The main tenant is Zurich Insurance.
