Norton Rose Fulbright advises Enel Green Power on 3.5bn South African Rand financing for five wind farms

    Approximately €950m in project finance secured for five wind farms.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Enel, through its subsidiary Enel Green Power RSA (EGP RSA), the Enel Group’s South African renewables company, on the multi-tranche financing facilities for a portfolio of five wind projects in South Africa. The portfolio totals approximately 700MW of capacity at an estimated value of approximately €950 million.

Ashurst advises banks on refinancing of Sonnedix photovoltaic portfolio

International law firm Ashurst advised the lenders on the €157.8 million refinancing of a portfolio of 23 photovoltaic plants in Italy with a total installed capacity of 47.3 MW, owned by Sonnedix Santa Lucia S.r.l, a subsidiary of the Sonnedix group.

The financing included long-term bank debt and a debt service reserve facility. Banco Santander, S.A., Milan Branch, Natixis S.A., Milan Branch and UBI Banca S.p.A. acted as lender and mandated lead arranger. UBI Banca S.p.A. also acted as facility agent and account bank.

Ashurst advises EQT on acquisition of Allee Center in Leipzig

Ashurst advised EQT Real Estate (EQT) on the acquisition and the financing of the "Allee-Center" shopping centre in the German city of Leipzig from Investa Capital Management. The centre, which is located on Ludwigsburger Strasse in the city's Grünau district, covers an area of almost 40,000 square meters. Its largest single tenants are Rewe, Saturn and Aldi. EQT intends, together with center manager ECE, to continue to work on the stabilisation of the property. EQT entered the German real estate business about two years ago and was initially primarily focused on office real estate.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised international solar operator, Sonnedix Group, as sponsor, and Sonnedix Santa Lucia, the borrower, on the limited recourse refinancing of a portfolio of 23 photovoltaic parks in Italy. The portfolio has a total installed capacity of 47.3MW.

Allen & Overy advises Oak Hill Advisors and Värde Partners on $1bn shipping loans

Allen & Overy has advised existing clients Oak Hill Advisors and Värde Partners on their acquisition of a $1bn portfolio of shipping loans from Deutsche Bank.

The $1bn portfolio of shipping loans is the second significant shipping loan portfolio that Oak Hill Advisors and Värde Partners have acquired from European banks.  With a broad spread of vessel types, the loan portfolio has underlying exposure to a diversified pool of shipping sectors and borrowers.

Ashurst advises Banks Renewables on UK wind farm refinancing

International law firm Ashurst advised Banks Renewables, the renewable energy division of property and energy business the Banks Group, on the £82 million refinancing of seven of its existing wind farms across northern England, five of which were built using external finances and two using Banks' own capital reserves.

The new funding, financed by National Australia Bank and Santander, will be utilised in a number of projects, including Banks Renewables' forward programme of onshore wind farms as well as for a number of other planned projects.

Abergavenny-headquartered Coach House Inns has acquired the Longs Arms in Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire.

A six-figure funding package for the deal was provided by HSBC with James Mugleston and Paul Duggan of Blake Morgan having advised HSBC. It is Coach House Inns’ first acquisition this year and its fourth in total, and forms part of the company’s ambitious acquisition strategy.
