Eversheds advises KPMG on London City office relocation

Global law firm Eversheds has advised KPMG on the relocation of its London City office to 30 North Colonnade in Canary Wharf. From 2015, the firm will occupy 200,000 sq ft. across the top eight floors of the building, which is owned in a joint venture by Fimalac and Hearst Corporation.

1,100 staff will be relocating to 30 North Colonnade, to work alongside the 5,000 staff who are already based next door at 15 Canada Square.

The Eversheds team was led by partners Bruce Dear, Nefydd Jones and Richard Lampert assisted by Liz Fevyer, Jonathan Woodward and Jon Bowley.

Reed Smith and Siemens in-house team successfully collaborate to complete Thameslink deal

Global law firm Reed Smith and Siemens' in-house legal team have worked together to complete the Thameslink Rolling Stock Project transaction, the largest contract ever awarded to Siemens plc in the UK. As part of the deal, Siemens will produce 1,140 new Desiro City commuter rail carriages for the Thameslink route, as well as build two new maintenance depots and provide ongoing maintenance for the trains.

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Fusion for Energy (F4E), the European Union organisation managing Europe’s contribution to ITER, on a €31 million mechanical handling contract, representing a further important milestone in the construction of its fusion reactor complex at the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project in Cadarache, France.

Ince & Co advises on Jordan FSRU

International law firm Ince & Co LLP advised Golar LNG Limited on the successful completion of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) time charter with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan.

Ince advised Golar on all aspects of the charter and related documentation, from the initial expression of interest, throughout the tender stage, to final completion of the deal on 31st July.

Trowers & Hamlins advises Jordanian government on next stage of implementing the Kingdom's LNG import strategy

Trowers & Hamlins has advised the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan, together with Navigant, Mapstone and Tractebel Engineering, on a time charter party agreement with Golar LNG Limited for the supply of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). The agreement was signed in late July 2013 and represents the latest step in implementing Jordan's liquefied natural gas (LNG) import strategy.

Eversheds advises Citi on Baghdad representative office

Global law firm Eversheds has advised Citibank on the registration of its representative office in Baghdad, Iraq, making it the first US bank to establish a presence in the country.

According to Citi's press release, the representative office in the Iraqi capital will support Citi’s clients in the country, and the New York-based bank will also seek to open two more offices, in Erbil and Basra, in the future.

The Eversheds team, led by Partner Tawfiq Tabbaa, advised Citibank on all aspects of project.
