Withers represents Royal Free Charity on launch of Pears Building clinical research centre development

Withers has advised the Royal Free Charity, the charitable foundation for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, on an agreement with contractor Willmott Dixon which commences the development of the Pears Building, a cutting-edge institute for clinical research on immunity and transplantation.

Jeantet counsels Hoist Group on cross operations conducted with the mutualist group MNH

Jeantet counselled the Hoist Group, a specialist in media solutions (hardware and services), for two cross operations conducted with the mutualist group MNH (Mutuelle Nationale des Hospitaliers), including the transfer of activities devoted to the health of Hoist Group France and acquisition of the Comelec hotel activity and Netlogon from MNH.

This is a new stage for the Hoist Group, enabling it to recentre its activities in France on its target market in the hotel industry.

Fieldfisher successfully secures Avaya's Binding Corporate Rules

European law firm Fieldfisher has secured Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) approval for Avaya, the American multinational technology company that specializes in business communications.

On February 5th, Avaya obtained the approval of its Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) by the German Data Protection Authority of the Hesse region, following the formal submission of its BCR to the DPA on 20th March 2017. Avaya obtained this approval in less than a year from the date of submission, effectively making it one of the fastest BCR approvals obtained by Fieldfisher.

Dentons advises on the establishment of Oman Towers Company to develop Sultanate's telecom infrastructure

Dentons has advised Oman 70 Holding Company ("Oman 70") on the establishment of Oman Towers Company ("the Company"). Oman 70 owns a 56 percent stake in the Company, with ActivCo owning 34 percent and the Omani Government, represented by Oman Broadband Company, owning 10 percent. The agreement to establish the Company was signed in Muscat on 20 February 2018.

Eversheds Sutherland assists Network Rail with significant transfer of Carillion contracts

Eversheds Sutherland has advised longstanding client Network Rail on the transfer of a significant number of strategically important Carillion contracts to Amey Rail following Carillion’s collapse. The arrangement will safeguard over 700 Carillion jobs and provide security for other companies involved in the rail industry.

The transfer of the high-profile contracts, including the Midland Mainline Upgrade and North West Electrification Programme, was carried out over two weeks with the Eversheds Sutherland team meeting particularly challenging timescales.

On 14 February ESSO and EG Group, a company owned by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa, business partner of ESSO in Europe, completed the sale and purchase of the fuel distribution business in Italy, consisting of 1,175 retail branded service stations; the transaction includes a long-term supply and trademark licence agreement for the ESSO fuel brand.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Ararat Wind Farm on innovative corporate PPAs with Flow Power

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Ararat Wind Farm (AWF) on its entry into two innovative corporate power purchase agreements with Flow Power, a Melbourne based electricity retailer.

AWF is a 240MW wind farm located in Victoria and jointly owned by Partners Group and OP Trust. The offtake agreements supplement the existing 80.5MW feed-in tariff offtake agreement entered into by AWF and the ACT Government in 2015.

OP Trust announced on 16 February that it will be acquiring 51% of the shares in Flow Power.
