Eversheds Sutherland advised Viria Oyj in a corporate transaction in which Viria Link Oy, provider of construction, installation and control room services, is transferred into the ownership of Voimatel Oy. Viria Link Oy is a company offering integrated communications network services, providing its customers with planning and design, installation, monitoring and expert services regarding communications networks.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises South Korean refiner S-OIL on LNG supply contract with Malaysian SOE PETRONAS

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised S-OIL Corp, one of South Korea’s largest refiners, on a 15-year, long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contract with Petronas LNG Ltd., a subsidiary of Malaysian state-owned enterprise Petroliam Nasional (PETRONAS).

As part of the agreement, which was signed on August 25, 2017, it is reported that S-OIL will buy 700,000 tonnes of LNG annually from Petronas from March 2018 through March 2033, which it plans to use as fuel to run plants and as a feedstock for petrochemical products.

Ashurst announces its first deal for Basalt Infrastructure Partners

An Ashurst cross-border team from London and Milan has advised Basalt Infrastructure Partners on the launch of Mareccio Energia ("Mareccio"), a platform for the aggregation of small scale operational Italian solar parks. Mareccio has been established with the initial objective of acquiring 100MW of assets.

Infrastructure partner Jason Radford led the Ashurst team and was assisted by fellow partner Carloandrea Meacci with associates Gaby Jones, Peter Grayson, Anthony Gray, Annamaria Pinzuti, Elena Giuffrè, Fabio Balza, Flavia Calò and Nicole Williams.

Shoosmiths supports Bruntwood on successful tech hub funding bid for Leeds

Shoosmiths was a project partner in Bruntwood's successful consortium bid for funding to launch a tech hub in Leeds, delivering a major boost to the city.

Leeds City Council has awarded Bruntwood, the largest regional property developer and operator in the UK, £2m to open a tech hub at their new Platform development located at the city's mainline rail station.

CHSH advises IST Austria on establishing a start-up incubator

Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati has advised the Excellence Research Centre of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST-A) on establishing an incubator for spin-offs. The incubator has been jointly established by IST-A and an international investor.

The advice was provided in connection with complex issues and included – in addition to corporate law – questions concerning state aid law, the institutional law applicable to research institutes and capital markets law.

CMS Hasche Sigle has advised the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (German Savings Banks Finance Group) on the introduction of the paydirekt online payment method. The firm was instructed by Deutscher Sparkassenverlag, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale and Landesbank Baden-Württemberg. paydirekt now enables 15 million Sparkassen customers to pay Internet sellers directly via their online current account. As a consequence, customers no longer need to provide third parties with access to their details, thereby ensuring a high degree of data security.

Bulgaria: Schoenherr advises Bulgarian Eagle airline on AOC Certification

Schoenherr advised Bulgarian Eagle airline, the ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) carrier, recently founded by the Germania Group, on its expansion into Bulgaria. Schoenherr also supported Bulgarian Eagle in obtaining the official air operator certificate ("AOC") from the Bulgarian authorities, which allows the airline to use aircraft for commercial purposes. After all the necessary licenses were issued and a demonstration flight was successfully completed, the Bulgarian aviation authority cleared the new airline for take-off.

Ashurst LLP advised WeWork, a US company created in 2010, now valued US$ at 16bn, specialised in coworking spaces worldwide, on its third establishment in France based at 40-42 rue du Colisée in Paris (75008) over circa 7,000 sq.m.

WeWork had already opened its flagship establishment in April 2017 at 33 rue Lafayette, Paris and has signed a lease for premises based at 64-66 rue des Archives in Paris (75003) and continues thus its development in France.
