Renewable experts advise on debt financing package for Queensland’s largest wind farm

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised the commercial lenders to the RATCH-Australia sponsored Mount Emerald Wind Farm on the debt financing package and the construction and operation aspects of the project.

ANZ, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, NAB and Société Générale participated as lenders in the project finance construction and term debt financing package.

UAE-China trade ties deepen with landmark judicial cooperation agreement

Trade ties between the UAE and China received a significant boost today with the signing of a landmark cooperation agreement between two of the countries’ key commercial courts.

The Shanghai High People’s Court, the foremost business court in the commercial and financial centre of mainland China, and the DIFC Courts have agreed to work together to achieve shared strategic objectives, provide the basis for future judicial exchanges, and deliver legal excellence.

Paris - Mayer Brown avised the Frankfurt branch of BNP Paribas on the extension of the Allgäu Center Parcs located in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

La Française Real Estate Partners (REP) acquired, from the Pierre et Vacances group, for French institutional investors, the extension which will include 250 luxury cottages over an area of 2,500 sq.m. featuring a spa, restaurants, shops and play areas.

Slaughter and May is advising Regus plc (“Regus”) on its proposed scheme of arrangement to introduce a new holding company, incorporated in Jersey and with its head office in Switzerland, to the Regus group (the "Scheme"). The new holding company will be named IWG Plc, will have its primary listing on the main market of the London Stock Exchange and, upon listing, is expected to be included in the FTSE 250.

Bär & Karrer Advises Swissgrid in Proceeding Relating to Valuation Method of Grid Assets

In connection with transfer of the Swiss transmission network, the Swiss Federal Electricity Commission (ElCom) ruled on the valuation method used to determine the respective value of the transmission network installations. The closing of the complex transfer process was carried out by the former owners and the new owner Swissgrid as from 2013. A new ruling on the underlying valuation method for the installations was issued in October 2016. This will result in higher compensation for the former owners.
