Osborne Clarke advises KICKRS.NET on its launch into Germany and Belgium

Osborne Clarke has advised KICKRS.NET, the crowdfunding platform for soccer talents, on its launch in Belgium and Germany.

The crowdfunding platform, started by Swiss Next Sports Rights AG, supports the career of young soccer players, participating in their success. The platform represents individual talents but also whole groups of professional players, which fans and sponsors are then able to invest in them. The return depends on individually defined milestones, e. g. contract renewal or an increase in the player’s market value after being sold to a different club.

PKB Privatbank Reaches Agreement With the US Department of Justice

Within the framework of the US program in which it participated voluntarily, PKB Privatbank reached a non-prosecution agreement with the US Department of Justice. PKB Privatbank agreed to pay USD 6.3 million and to further cooperate with US authorities. In return, the US Department of Justice will abstain from criminal prosecution. The penalty amounts to approx. 1.9 percent of the total assets held by PKB Privatbank's US clients.

Energiedienst Holding AG and TRITEC are pooling their know-how

The Laufenburg-based Energiedienst Holding AG and the TRITEC Group are establishing a new enterprise. TRITEC AG, with company headquarters in Aarberg (Canton of Berne), will operate in the future in Switzerland and in Germany as a system provider for decentralized generation systems – inter alia, photovoltaic systems, electrical storage devices and heat pumps.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Thales on £760m London Underground signalling contract

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Thales on its £760m contract to deliver the modernisation of the signalling and train control systems on four London Underground lines.

40 per cent of the London Underground network, including the Circle, District, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines, is set to be modernised by 2022 with passenger capacity increased by a third.

The signalling project is one of the largest and most complex in the world, and will upgrade the oldest part of the London Underground network.

Burges Salmon advises NDA land contract for Moorside signed with NuGen

Nuclear energy sector experts from Burges Salmon have advised the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) on the disposal of land to NuGen, the nuclear new-build developer for land at the Moorside site near Sellafield.

Following successful site suitability studies the scheme envisages the construction of three new Westinghouse AP1000 reactors and it will be a major infrastructure project in the UK.

It is anticipated that Moorside will eventually deliver seven per cent of the UK’s future electricity.

Slaughter and May is advising LMS Capital plc (the Company) in relation to its proposal to change its investment policy from its current realisation strategy to enable it to instead make investments in the global energy sector.

NextEV is a Chinese start-up company planning on developing and marketing electric vehicles around the world. With its team NextEV TRC, the company founded by successful Chinese IT entrepreneurs is also competing in the racing series "Formula E".
