Debevoise Advises Tribune Media Company in Completion of Spin-Off of Publishing Business

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised Tribune Media Company in connection with its spin-off of Tribune Publishing Company. As a result of the distribution, Tribune Publishing Company is an independent company, and its common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “TPUB”.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises the project developers of the onshore and nearshore wind farm Westermeerwind

Westermeerwind B.V. recently reached financial close on the construction of the Westermeerwind wind farm (144 MW). The wind farm will consist of 48 3MW wind turbines. The turbines will be built in the water along the dikes of the Noordoostpolder, in two rows beside the Westermeerdijk and the Noordermeerdijk. The wind farm, expected to be completed in 2016, will provide energy to about 160.000 households.

Mayer Brown advised the Klesch Group on the contract to buy Milford Haven refinery

London - Leading global law firm Mayer Brown, instructed by the Klesch Group General Counsel, David Green, advised the global industrial company on the contract to buy Milford Haven oil refinery in Wales.

This follows the Klesch Group’s refinancing of its Heide Refinery in 2013 and the acquisition of that Refinery from Shell in 2010, both of which Mayer Brown also advised upon.

Eversheds advises Dwr Cymru Welsh Water on £1.5 billion capital investment programme

Eversheds has advised Dwr Cymru Welsh Water on its procurement of alliance agreements with partners appointed to deliver its £1.5 billion capital investment programme for 2015 to 2020.

The partners will work closely with Welsh Water throughout the investment period, known as Asset Management Plan 6 (AMP6), to deliver cost effective and sustainable outcomes that will benefit customers and the environment. As part of its AMP6 regulatory funding cycle Welsh Water will invest in improvements to its clean water and sewerage networks and treatment works.

Clifford Chance advises on settlement of Tom Waterhouse sale to William Hill and CEO appointment

After advising the Waterhouse family on the sale of the Tomwaterhouse.com business to William Hill in August 2013, international law firm Clifford Chance has now advised on the settlement of that sale's earn-out arrangements.

The firm has also advised Tom Waterhouse on his appointment as CEO of William Hill Australia, which includes the Sportingbet, Centrebet and Tomwaterhouse.com business and brands.

Eversheds advises UK government on further major strategic rail franchise deal

Eversheds has advised Department for Transport (DfT) on the new Essex Thameside franchise which has been awarded to the current operator c2c (a subsidiary of National Express Group PLC).

The Essex Thameside franchise operates over a network of routes between London Fenchurch Street and Southend and serves key intermediate commuter hubs including Barking and Basildon.

Allen & Overy LLP has supported SAP AG, the world's leading corporate software provider and the largest software company in Europe, on its change of form to a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE).

The change of form took effect on 7 July this year upon entry in the commercial register, after the general meeting approved the step with a majority of 99.57% on 21 May 2014.
