Ping An Raises RMB Fund to Invest in U.S. Real Estate

Paul Hastings represented Ping An, a leading personal financial services group in China, in raising a Chinese RMB fund and forming two joint ventures with Pacific Eagle (US) Real Estate Fund, L.P. for the development of two U.S. residential real estate projects in San Francisco and Malibu, California.  Pacific Eagle (US) Real Estate Fund, L.P., Ping An’s joint venture partner, is a private equity fund co-sponsored by Great Eagle Holdings Limited, a leading Hong Kong property company with a long-term track-record in the U.S.

Debevoise Advises Hony Capital in its Investment in WeWork Companies Inc.

Debevoise & Plimpton is advising Hony Capital in its investment in WeWork Companies. The deal values the company at approximately $16 billion, and constitutes the company’s sixth funding round.

The transaction reached initial close on March 8, 2016 with Hony Capital as the lead investor in the approximately $430 million round of financing.

Vinge assists Vostok Emerging Finance in connection with its investment in Finanzero

Vinge assists Vostok Emerging Finance Ltd (“VEF”) in connection with its investment in Finanzero, an online marketplace for brokerage of consumer loans in Brazil.

VEF is an investment company with the goal of investing in early stage modern financial services companies across emerging and frontier markets. VEF is listed on Nasdaq First North.

Vinge’s team primarily consisted of Jesper Schönbeck and Sofie Bjärtun, with assistance from Tomas Forsgren and Malin Malm on IPR matters.

Roschier represented KONGSBERG in its acquisition of 49.9% of Patria shares

Roschier represented KONGSBERG, a Norwegian listed technology corporation, in its EUR 272 million acquisition of 49.9% of the shares in Patria Oyj from the State of Finland.

Patria is Finland’s leading defence supplier and owns 50 % of the shares in the Norwegian company Nammo. The partnership will be a leading defence supplier in the Nordics and a considerable supplier on the European defence market.

Linklaters advises as Rosneft sells stakes in its subsidiary to Indian consortium

Linklaters has advised Rosneft (acting by the wholly owned subsidiary RN-Razvedka i Dobycha) as it signed a binding agreement to sell 29.9% participatory share in its Taas-Yuryakh Neftegasodobycha subsidiary to a consortium of three Indian companies: Oil India, Indian Oil and Bharat Petroresources.

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegasodobycha operates one of the largest oil and gasfields in eastern Siberia.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Silk Road Fund on its first oil and gas M&A transaction

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Silk Road Fund on the acquisition of an approximate 9.9% stake in Russia's key new liquefied natural gas (LNG) project based in South Tambeyskoye gas field from Novatek, Russia's largest independent natural gas producer, for EUR1,087 million.

The Yamal LNG project involves the exploration and exploitation of the South Tambeyskoye field in the Yamal peninsula in northwest Siberia, the construction and operation of an LNG liquefaction plant, and a port to transport gas to the market.
