Ashurst advises ALNO on the attraction of a new major shareholder

Ashurst advised ALNO AG on the attraction of Nature Home Holding Company Limited, Cayman Islands, ("Nature") as a further anchor shareholder. On 30 March 2015, Nature, a Chinese Company, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, concluded an investment agreement with ALNO AG under which it undertakes to buy 5.5 million new ALNO AG shares derived from a cash capital increase.

DLA Piper represents Ping An on investment in U.S. commercial real estate project

DLA Piper has represented long-standing client Ping An Insurance, one of the largest insurance companies in China, through its subsidiary Ping An Real Estate, on a landmark investment in Tishman Speyer's Pier 4, a Boston, U.S.A. commercial real estate project, valued at US$ 500 million.

Pier 4, in Boston's Seaport District, is a prime waterfront development which is set to include a 13-story commercial building and a nine story residential building, in an evolving and dynamic area of the city.

The independent Frankfurt private equity fund is expanding its portfolio and has acquired a minority stake in Tmax Group, consisting of the Mannheim Thermamax Hochtemperaturdämmungen GmbH and Thermamax Inc., based in Aurora/Illinois/USA.

Thermamax develops and manufactures high-temperature insulation systems, used both in vehicles and ships, as well as in the stationary power generation plants and offshore platforms.

Dacheng Advises Domestic Company on Ethiopian Mining Resources Investment

Beijing-based senior partner Yang Guisheng was invited to a meeting held jointed by Chongqing Geological Exploration and Development Bureau and Chongqing Xinhao Investment Co., Ltd. to discuss restructuring of investment in Ethiopian Nankai Mining Co., Ltd.. Yang explained in great detail the cross-border investment structure designed by Dacheng and offered guidance on how to execute the structure. Yang was assisted by partner Zhang Ting, associates Wang Yixuan and Luo Jian.

Dechert Advises Echosens on Minority Investment from Cathay Capital Private Equity and OrbiMed

Cathay Capital Private Equity, OrbiMed and several Chinese institutional investors acquired shares of Echosens SAS, a subsidiary of the FuRui group. The FuRui Group will retain a majority sharehold of 51% with Cathay Capital entering Echosens’ shareholding structure in the context of a capital increase. Cathay Capital also subscribes for close to €30 million of newly issued company shares to finance its international expansion.

Latham & Watkins Advises the Government of Pakistan on its Divestment of Shares of Habib Bank Limited

Latham & Watkins has advised the Government of Pakistan’s Privatisation Commission in connection with the divestment of its 41.5 percent stake in Habib Bank Limited, the largest bank in Pakistan. Raising proceeds in excess of US$1 billion, the offering represents Pakistan’s largest-ever equity offering and the largest from Asia’s frontier markets.

Freshfields advises CMC M&E on stake in Hong Kong broadcaster TVB

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised CMC M&E Acquisition Co, Ltd (CMC) on its acquisition of an indirect stake in leading Hong Kong broadcaster Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB).

Through the acquisition of a stake in Young Lion Holdings Ltd, which indirectly holds a 26% stake of the outstanding shares of TVB, CMC has become an indirect shareholder in the media company.

The Freshfields team advising on this transaction was led by corporate partner Edward Freeman.

Charles Russell Speechlys coordinated legal due diligence providers in several jurisdictions across Europe and worked alongside Weil, Gotshal & Manges, who advised on the acquisition.
