Orrick Advises on US$500M Investment in Tuniu for JD.com

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP (“Orrick”) is advising JD.com Inc. (“JD”; NASDAQ: JD), the second largest e-commerce site in China, in its investment in Tuniu Corporation (“Tuniu”; NASDAQ: TOUR), a leading online leisure travel company in China, along with a group of investors including affiliates of Ctrip.com (NASDAQ: CTRP), DCM V, Hony Capital, Sequoia Capital and Temasek Holdings. The aggregate investment amount by all these investors is US$500 million.

Dentons advises Petronas on one of its largest acquisitions

Dentons has advised PETRONAS, the Malaysian oil and gas giant, on its acquisition of Statoil's 15.5% interest in the Shah Deniz gas field and associated pipelines off shore Azerbaijan. The deal completed in April 2015.

Shah Deniz is one of the largest gas projects in the world, paving the way for Caspian gas to be delivered directly to European markets for the first time through pipelines across Turkey, Greece and Albania into Italy, reducing Europe's dependence on Russian gas.

The shares of German Brokers AG are admitted for trading on the General Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and are also traded over the counter (Freiverkehr) at the Berlin, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart stock exchanges.

Bird & Bird has advised regular client Index Ventures on the the £5.2 million Series A round financing of London House Exchange Limited (trading as Property Partner). The financing was led by Index with participation from existing investors, including Octopus Ventures and Seedcamp.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Export-Import Bank of Korea on its equity investment to an Indonesian Hydroelectric Power Plant

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) in relation to its first ever equity investment. The project is to build and operate a 54MW hydroelectric power plant by the Semangka river in the Tanggamus District, Lampung Province which is located in South Sumatra, Indonesia, which will supply power to Sumatra. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2017.
On top of the equity investment, Korea Eximbank is also providing USD 132.9 million in project financing which includes a loan and a guarantee.

Shoosmiths has advised the management team on the £5 million investment by Mobeus Equity Partners to support the management buyout of Jablite Limited and Styropack (UK) Limited from the Synbra Group.

Jablite is the UK's leading producer of expanded polystyrene (EPS) products used by the construction industry to enable buildings to meet ever more stringent environmental standards for insulation; and Styropack is the leading UK brand in EPS packaging for the fish, horticultural and white goods industries.

OksigenCrowd is an initiative of Oksigen Lab with the support of the European Commission. The purpose of Oksigen Lab is to support and increase the impact of social entrepreneurship. The new platform provides an additional source of financing to social enterprises, which often find it difficult to attract funding through traditional channels.
