King & Spalding Advises Kintyre on Acquisition of Stake in Drehscheibe Shopping Centre

King & Spalding advised Kintyre, a real estate manager and investor specializing in retail and office space, on the acquisition of a strategic 5.1 percent interest in the well-known Drehscheibe shopping centre in Bochum.

The transaction saw an eight-year management contract for the provision of letting, asset management and center management services agreed. The firm’s team was led by Frankfurt partner Sven Wortberg and included associate Sten Hornuff.

China National Building Material Company Limited Merges with China National Materials Company Limited

Davis Polk is advising Morgan Stanley Asia Limited as one of the joint financial advisers to China National Building Material Company Limited (“CNBM”) on its proposed merger by absorption of China National Materials Company Limited (“Sinoma”). The proposed merger will be effected through a securities exchange offer under which CNBM will issue new shares in exchange for all of the issued Sinoma shares at an agreed exchange ratio. The proposed merger is conditional on, amongst other things, approval of shareholders of both companies and regulatory consent.

Milbank Advises LGT on Financing Round in Aviation Start-Up Lilium

The international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP has advised LGT Group, the largest Private Banking and Asset Management group in the world to be owned by an entrepreneurial family, on the financing round in the aviation start-up Lilium GmbH. Other lenders include the Chinese internet company Tencent and the Atomico and Obvious Ventures technology funds. In total, Lilium was able to complete a second round of financing of US$ 90 million.

Firm Advises on Government of India’s Stake Sale of Country’s Largest Power Producer in US$1.42 billion Deal

Squire Patton Boggs has acted as US counsel to India’s largest power producer, NTPC Limited, in connection with the sale of a 6.6% stake in the business by the Government of India, which has raised Rs. 9,100 crore (approximately US$1.42 billion).

Biswajit Chatterjee, partner and co-chair of Squire Patton Boggs’ India Practice, assisted by senior associate Kaustubh George and associate Anandee Banerji, were part of the team that advised the government’s Department of Investment and Public Asset Management and NTPC on the transaction.

New Energy Investment sells 1.78% of the shares in Dong Energy

The Goldman Sachs controlled company New Energy Investment has sold 1.78% of the shares in Dong Energy, a Danish energy company with a strong profile in renewables.

The shares have been sold to institutional investors in an accelerated bookbuilt offering at a price of DKK 321 per share equaling gross proceeds of approximately DKK 2.4 billion.

Upon the sale, New Energy Investment will hold 11,435,215 shares in Dong Energy, corresponding to 2.7% of the shares in Dong Energy.

Orrick Advises Atomico in Lilium’s $90 Million Series B Financing Round

Orrick has advised Atomico, the venture capital firm founded by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennström, on their investment in the $90 million Series B financing of Lilium. Founded in 2015, Lilium is a Bavarian developer of the world’s first fully electric vertical take-off and landing jet.

The financing was led by Tencent and also included LGT and Obvious Ventures. It brings Lilium’s total capital raised to more than $100 million. Atomico previously invested $10 million in Lilium’s Series A financing in December 2016.

Vinge has advised Fast Travel Games during funding round

Vinge has advised Stockholm based VR games studio Fast Travel Games in connection with a 2.1 MUSD funding round. The purpose of the financing is foremost to expand the team and to launch a first game. Participating in the funding round was among others Idustrifonden, Creades, Inbox Capital and Sunstone Capital.

Vinge´s team consisted of Johan Larsson and Anna Thoms.
